In this generation, wherein the world is suffering from pollution and harmful
greenhouse gases due to consuming a lot of fossil fuels, researchers have discovered an
alternative approach to the world's dilemma. Solar to conversation into electricity has drawn
attention because of its benefits, including its renewable source, low costs, and absence of
environmental pollutants. According to Gang et al. (2019), solar power generation is a highly
effective tool for addressing the energy crisis and reducing the environmental pollution.
According to Gang et al. (2019), the two categories of solar power generation
technology are solar radiation and thermal power generation technology. According to data
gathered by the Environment and Energy Study Institute (2011), heat accounts for 47% of
global and 37% of energy consumption within the most developed nations. Hasanuzzaman et
al. (2022) claim that combined heat and power is another effective way to use thermal
energy. According to Fuke et al. (2017), solar thermal energy is just one example of the
constantly evolving and improving the technology used to harness the sun's radiant light and
heat as a natural energy source. Solar energy is converted into thermal and electrical energy
through several processes.
Electricity is produced using Photovoltaic (PV), also known as solar cells, which are
electronic devices. Solar power uses photovoltaic (PV) panels or mirrors to focus solar
radiation on converting sunlight into electrical energy. Gang et al. (2019) stated that
"photovoltaic power generation technology is widely utilized in solar energy production
because it offers high efficiency, low pollution, and good flexibility." Photovoltaic (PV) cells,
also called solar cells constructed of semiconductor materials like silicon, collect light from
the sun and transform it directly into electricity. According to Rana et al. (2018), solar
photovoltaic is now the third most significant renewable energy source in terms of the total
installed capacity worldwide, after hydropower and wind power.
Living without electricity might not be as easy as you think, and you do not realize
that all the items in your home rely on electricity to function. Each year, power outages
brought on by severe weather, natural disasters, or problems with electricity lines affect
thousands of households. A single power line damaged by a minor storm can result in a
power outage that affects hundreds of families and residences, completely upsetting their
daily schedules.
There are 1.2 billion individuals without access to power worldwide. That amounts to
17% of the world's population living in darkness. Many of these people live in Southeastern
Asia, and even 173 million live in urban areas. The result shows that free Light energy can
sustain the needs of emergencies like power shortages or blackouts. (The Greenbook, 2012)
Solar power generators are becoming common but still challenging in some countries.
Since solar power generation depends on sunlight to generate electrical energy, using it
instead of other power sources has this advantage. The second advantage, for many, is that
using a solar thermal power generator to generate electrical energy is environmentally
friendly because no harmful byproducts such as atomic waste or greenhouse gas are involved
in the process, and natural resources are conserved. In the past, investing in and relying on
solar power to provide one's energy needs was an expensive alternative for many. But
because of technological improvements, solar energy is now considerably more affordable
and effective. Manufacturing scale is another critical condition for lowering the price of solar
technology, according to Bosshard et al. (2006). Large-scale production reduces the cost of
active materials and manufacturing.
As long as many of us have been alive, we are experiencing the petroleum market, but
today, technology has finally made enough strides to help us fight back. Solar power
generation is one of the most effective ways to reduce the world's energy problems,
especially global warming, and help us to have electricity without thinking of suffering from
pollution and harmful greenhouse gases due to consuming a lot of fossil fuels.
