Advanced Available To Promise With Back Order Processing

Advanced Available to Promise (aATP) provides more advanced backorder processing capabilities than basic ATP. It uses intuitive requirement classification, FIORI applications, mass availability checks, allocation checks considering alternative plants/materials, and advanced transportation scheduling. The key steps to activate aATP are to define an availability check group, materials block, check rules, and control scope. Backorder processing in S/4 HANA uses 5 strategies - WIN, GAIN, REDISTRIBUTE, FILL, LOSE to allocate inventory to sales orders. The backorder processing application is configured by creating segments, variants, and scheduling variant runs which can then be monitored.

Steps
1. Activation of AATP
Path: SPRO  Cross Application Components Advanced Available to Promise Product
Availability Check  Define Availability Check
2. Define Checking Group.
3. Define Material Block for the other users
4. Define Checking group default value
5. Maintain Checking rule for updating Back order
6. Carry out control for the availability check (OR) Scope of Check

In S/4 HANA the BOP has the 5 strategies


1. WIN – Confirm as requested (The most Important Customer orders)
2. GAIN – Improve if Possible (Orders that cannot lose if earlier confirmations)
3. REDISTRIBUTE – Redistribute (Orders that can lose Confirmations)
4. FILL – Delete Confirmation if required (Non – Priority Based Customers)
5. LOSE – Delete Confirmation (Orders under credit block)

We now proceed BOP Application that will create the parameters to decide what inventory is
allocated to certain Sales Orders, it is done through Fiori apps

These Segments will filter and sort data per the selection criteria documented

In Segment creation, we have standard options available such as Sales Org, Document type, Date
Ranges or plant providing broad flexibility.

1st Configure BOP Segment


 In selection criteria we can give selection condition with a basic code
 Ex – Delivery Priority of the sales data of an ATP document is equal to 01
 We can also prioritize the Attributes as well

2 Configure BOP Variant
 Assignment BOP Segments to the BOP Variant as per the requirement
3rd Schedule BOP Run
 Provide the basic inputs
 We need to give the Variant which we created using segments and run the BOP
4th Monitor Job Run
 Once Job is completed, we can check status in the Monito Job Run App.
