b. Reflective/persuasive essay Go back to the ideas that you have written and identify which of these ideas speak of the good and bad
effects of social stratification? Of which social theory best predicts a harmonious society? And of in what way a teacher could address
the society’s issues and problems brought by social stratification?

-The social stratification that categorizes people base on social standing in the society, has its own negative and positive effects
towards society and school. Facilitating the social order and governance, acknowledging someone or a community, in my opinion
creates great leaders that can lead effectively. The negative aspects of this is that some groups cannot have the same resources to the
ones who are acknowledge, creating imbalance and inequality in the society.
Symbolic interaction theory for me is the best social theory that could beset predicts a harmonious society. It focuses in
relationship towards each other in a society. Living in a community on which people can have a decent conversation since it is more
focused in relationship is very harmonious. We will know other people using “symbols” and having a better understanding on who
they are, anticipating future interaction and behavior.
As a teacher I will try and do my best in teaching how social stratification deteriorates and helps the community at the same
time, helping students in creating ideas and stand towards this issue. Also, ensuring that all my lessons are not biased and teach
diversity towards belief, culture, race, and income. And I hope that through my lessons students will try to question society standards
make them a free thinker, brave in speaking towards injustice and inequality.
