STATEMENT OF PURPOSE
Throughout my life, I have faced challenges where I had to step up, take charge,
organize, and work hard to reach my goals. In this process, not only have I grown as a
person but also nurtured my inherent quality of being a problem solver. My academic
experiences and passion for cricket helped me gain the ideal exposure required to
understand the importance of balancing my life. They also helped me develop the skill
to succeed equally in my education and passion. It is through these encounters that I
realized that I have an interest in working my way through complicated situations and
enabling people to succeed especially with the help of my experiences.
To streamline my interests, I pursued my Bachelor in Business Administration (BBA)

from Jahnavi Degree College (Osmania University) in Telangana, India. The choice of
the undergraduate institution was one of the first academic predicaments I faced. While
I had secured a seat in a college ranked higher, it had zero opportunities for
extracurriculars. I made the tough decision to choose a college with good academics
and a scope for all round development. I enjoyed learning Principles of Management,
digital marketing, marketing research, data analytics among other subjects. I also found
myself improving on my personality and communication skills while participating in
classroom discussions.
Along with my academics, I was captaining the college cricket team and together we
won several tournaments for the college. The best part about cricket was that it not only
made me feel alive while playing but also helped me realise how much of a team player
I am. Three of my team members went on to play Ranjhi trophy which I unfortunately
could not join owing to my financial status at the time but I lived one of my childhood
dreams through them. I graduated with a composite GPA of 8.10.
While I awaited my results, I had the opportunity to intern as a Marketing Analyst for
Trifacta Data LLP, Hyderabad, India. My primary role was to conceptualize, coordinate
and curate experiences for various corporate clients of the company. Additionally, I also
regularly dipped my foot in Cost Negotiation, Email Marketing, Social Media Marketing,
Business development and Lead Generation. Towards the end of the internship, I was
also extracting contacts of C-level executives and pitching relevant market study of their
business stream.
I watched my peers sprint past me with their academic and professional careers where I
often had to take a step back to support my single mother. I am thus highly encouraged
to make the best use of the opportunities at hand because I understand the importance
of privilege and time. While my education and life experiences have pointed me in the
right direction, I know that I have a long way to go to develop the right skills essential to
contribute productively to my chosen field of project management. I also believe that
gaining exposure abroad will help me broaden my horizons and challenge me to widen
my perspectives. For this reason, I chose to pursue a Post-Graduate degree in Project
Management.
As I explored the multitude of options in front of me, I was quickly attracted to the robust
academic curriculum with a practical orientation that universities in Canada carry.
Further research made it clear why it is known as ‘the land of opportunities’. Given my
existing fascination with the cultural diversities and welcoming nature of the country, it
was a no-brainer that I would choose to pursue my higher studies in Canada. I am sure
that with this exposure, I will be able to nurture my outgoing personality while shaping
my future in the best way possible.
Sheridan College is recognized worldwide owing to its alumni, strong academic

program, extremely qualified faculty, and the best facilities that are made available for
its students. A PG in Project Management from your esteemed institution will allow me
to advance my knowledge and ensure that I have the requisite skills to excel in this
area. … I think Sheridan College is a step in the right direction for me.
Through a career in project management, I hope to grow into a powerful leader who
revels in the success of their team. I hope that I can motivate my team to put their best
foot forward and work hard to bring out the best of their potential. I want to be a
dependable and valuable asset to any organization that I get the honor of joining. I will
prioritize the heart of the company and work towards its smooth functioning. After
gaining substantial experience, I wish to head back to India to empower small
businesses and work with start-ups.
I think I have the right attitude to acquire the skills needed to succeed in the industry of
project management. Additionally, I believe that my academic background and life
experiences will positively enable me to bring a unique perspective to the field. Sheridan
College, with its nuanced curriculum, will provide me with the right opportunities to equip
myself with the required abilities to flourish in my goals and ideals.

Sheridan College will allow me to advance my knowledge and ensure that I have the necessary skills
to excel in this field. I am confident that this experience will shape my future in the best possible way.
