Intel Case Analysis

Here are the possible options for Intel along with my analysis of the best option: 1. Stick with in-house production and solve delays internally: This would allow Intel to maintain control over production and proprietary technology. However, delays could continue to impact market share. 2. Outsource some production to contract manufacturers: This would allow Intel to supplement internal capacity and get products to market faster to compete. However, outsourcing involves loss of control and risks with quality/IP. 3. Acquire a contract manufacturer: Acquiring would give Intel control over additional facilities while also gaining external capacity. However, large acquisitions are complex and may not solve delays quickly enough. The best option is to outsource

• Write about the evolution of the chip/wafer industry in light of the intel case

People's lives are significantly impacted by technology in terms of ease and speed. There are
organizational sectors where human interaction is not necessary; all that is needed is technical
assistance. This demonstrates the importance of technology in our daily life. The largest chip
manufacturer in the world is Intel Corp., and they excel in producing personal computers (PCs).
There are no real competitors for the company because it is the top chip manufacturer in the 10nm
market. When a corporation experiences a delay in chip manufacture, they must decide whether to
stick with their current approach or seek the services of other companies.

They needed a sizable sum of money to start chip production, and the costs of doing so were
substantial. Even though a chip is very small in size, without one neither computers nor even other
gadgets would function. In comparison to the former production of 14nm chips, the company
started creating 5nm chips. The demand for the tiny chips has grown quickly. AMD and NVIDIA
are Intel's primary rivals. These rivals make chips that are smaller than those Intel was producing.
As a result, the market began to favor Intel's rivals' offerings.
