INTRODUCTION

The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly disrupted every aspects of human life,
including education. The alarming spread of the virus caused a havoc in the education
system forcing educational institutions to postpone face-to-face classes. The
Department of Education (DepEd) offers various delivery modalities suc h as blended
learning, distance learning, and home schooling to replace face-to-face learning
modality in order to reduce possible exposure of learners and teachers to COVID-19.
However, on September 20, 2021, the President approved the conduct of pilot face to
face classes in select public and private schools located in minimal-risk areas. As a
result, DepEd issued the School Safety Assessment Tool (SSAT) to assess the
readiness of schools to participate in the conduct of the implementation of face-to-
face learning modality.

In line with this, Sinayawan Central School has passed the school safety
assessment using School Safety Assessment Tool (SSAT) validated by the personnel
from Division of Valencia City under Schools Governance and Operations
Department (SGOD). The school is allowed to offer face-to-face with modular
learning modality this school year 2022-2023.

The school prepared a Revised Basic Education -Learning Continuity Plan (BE-
LCP) for this school year 2022-2023. The Revised BE-LCP is crafted to provide
guidance in establishing a safe school learning environment to better support the
teaching and learning delivery, to help engage the internal and stakeholders for inputs
in the delivery strategy and operational direction, and to guide in addressing learning
gaps due to pandemic-related disruptions.

.
II. OBJECTIVES

The Revised BE-LCP aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. To support the effective curriculum management and implementation

especially in the contextualization of learning resources and learning delivery
in the implementation of face-to-face with modular learning modality under
new normal;
2. To address learning gaps anchored on learning remediation and intervention;
3. To ensure adherence to policies and guidelines set by IATF to safeguard the
safety and well-being of learners, teachers and stakeholders; and
4. To strengthen partnership with stakeholders in various initiatives towards the
improvement of the school community.

III. METHODOLOGIES AND PRINCIPLES

Sinayawan Central School embarked on the revision of the BE-LCP based on the
guidelines stipulated in the Joint Memorandum of DepEd and DOH for the safe and proper
implementation of face-to-face with modular learning modality under the new normal. The
school strictly followed all the rules, regulations, and policies mandated in the
memorandum to continuously provide quality education to all the learners and to positively
address the issues, problems and concerns brought about the pandemic. The necessary steps
and actions to be undertaken are included in this plan to keep the school on track, move
forward and reach its goal.

Prior to conducting face to face classes, the school will secure support from Local
Government Units through the issuance of Certificate of Authority that permits the school
to open its gate for the face-to-face with modular

learning modality. Written consent from the parents/guardians who will participate in the
face-to-face with modular learning modality are also secured. The school will mobilize
resources and support from the internal and external stakeholders to meet the standards of
health and safety protocols.
To guarantee the readiness of the school to participate in the conduct of the
implementation of face-to-face with modular learning modality in the time of the COVID-
19 pandemic, the school intensifies its School WINs program through strengthening the
protective measures, hygiene practices, and safety procedures in the school.

To ensure the effective curriculum management and implementation of face-to-face

with modular learning modality under new normal, the school utilizes, SLMs, the
Curriculum Guide, Teachers’ Guide, and Learners’ Materials for the daily lessons. The
three core learning areas such as English, Mathematics and Science are prioritized to ensure
academic ease. Moreover, the school will develop a recovery learning plan to address
learning gaps. It is anchored on learning remediation and intervention, professional
development, health, safety, and wellness.

The school designed class programs that cater the face-to-face with modular learning
modality arrangement which will be posted in the classroom main entrance and in the
teacher’s table. In case of COVID-19 resurgence in the community, the school has prepared
the contingency plan to mitigate the scenario whichever is happening.

The school underscored the principles of Revised BE-LCP to ensure the continuity of
learning through K to 12 curriculum adjustments, alignment of learning materials,
deployment of learning delivery modalities, provision of training to teaching and
nonteaching personnel, and orientation to parents and pupils.

IV. WHAT THE DATA TELL US

The data shows that 94% of the total population preferred the limited face to face and
only 6% preferred modular learning print as convenient mode of learning for the pupils.
However, none chose other learning modalities, such as online, radio-based, TV-based,
and modular-Digital.
