First Quarter S.Y. 2022-2023

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
 identify the five fundamental positions in folk dance;
 execute the five fundamental positions in folk dance properly; and
 realize the importance of the fundamental positions in dancing.

“Alright. Now, let’s have an
activity.
We will be playing a game called
‘Four Pics, One Word.’ I will show
you four pictures and then you have
to tell me what word fits the
pictures. I will give plus points to

positions in folk dance. These are
the first position, second position,
third position, fourth position, and
fifth positions. Let’s start with the
first position. Please read. Yes,
May.” “In the first position, raise your arms
into a circle and form a V-shape with
your feet.”
“Thank you, May. To give you an
example, I will demonstrate it for
you. Listen and observe because
later on you will perform it with
me, okay?”
“Yes, sir.”
“Alright. Let’s practice first the
position of the arms. For the first
position, raise your arms into a
circle in front of your chest. Your
hands should be aligned in front of
your chest with both arms slightly
curved, and your fingertips should
be at least one inch apart.

“Let’s do it together shall we?


Everybody, please stand and follow
me.
