A DAILY LESSON LOG IN ARTS 9

I-OBJECTIVES
A. Learning Identifies distinct characteristics of arts during the Neoclassic and Romantic periods
Competencies (PAINTING)- A9EL-IIIa-2
B. Learning outcome The learners will identify the distinct characteristics of Neoclassicism and Romanticism
Period focus on paintings.
C. Learning Objectives In this lesson you are going to:
1. Identify the distinct characteristics of Neoclassical and Romantic period (Painting)
2. Compare the characteristics of two art periods.
3. Draw one artwork using the characteristics of two art period.

II-CONTENT Arts Production of Neoclassical and Romantic Periods.


- Pictures of Neoclassicism and Romanticism painting.
- LCD projector, A4 Bond paper, pencil and coffee.

Integration to Western History ( AP), English literature, Math and music.

III-PROCEDURES

A. Reviewing previous Preparation: Teacher will open her lesson with a prayer and greeting and reminding the
lesson or presenting learners the guidelines while having a lesson inside the classroom:
the new lesson
1. Be prepared
2. Be positive
3. Be participative
4. Be respectful
5. Be productive
And also reminding the learners to practice the minimum health protocols while the
class is in progress.
B. Establishing a ACTIVITY 1 PAINTING TABLEAU
purpose for the lesson Directions
1. Group selves into 3 by choosing the color posted on the board.
2. Each group will be given a scenario for them to be able to make a tableau.
3. Read and analyze it then arrange your groupmates according to what is being
described in the literature.
4. The activity will be work out within 5 minutes.
After the activity, let’s answer the following questions

1. What emotion does the painting express?


2. What were the subjects being applied by the painter?

#2 - Rococo Period- artistic period that emerged in France and spread throughout
the world in the late 17 th and early 18th century.
- The Rococo was characterized by soft colors and curvy lines, and depicts scenes
of love, nature, amorous encounters, light hearted entertainment and youth.

 NEOCLASSICISM
- The word Neoclassic comes from the Greek word “ neos” meaning “new”
and the latin word classicus which is similar in meaning to the English phrase
“first class”
- Neo- Classicism is the name given to the western movements in the
decorative and visual arts. Also it applies to literature, theater, music and
architecture that draw inspiration of Ancient Greece and Ancient Rome.
 ROMANTICISM
- Was an artistic, literary, musical and intellectual movement that originated in
Europe towards the end of 18th century. A trend that emphasized both
delicate and stormy presentation of sentiments or emotions and
individualism.

F. Developing mastery  After discussing of some distinct characteristics neoclassical and romantic period,
the teacher will enrich the topic through a group activity.
 Activity 3- THE RIGHT ONE

 With your group, identify and place the distinct characteristics of Neoclassicism
and Romanticism in their proper column.
 The activity will be work out within 2 minutes.
