Leverage the Product Development Process to Build an
Effective New Offering at Your Workplace

Assignment Instructions
Assume you have an idea, of a new product, that you wish to work upon within your current
organization. Out of excitement, you emailed your CEO with all the brainstorm-dump, which he
replied to saying, “Please send an executive brief of what you wanted to be built, why, and
how”.
Through this assignment, you will create a brief document about this new product offering you’d
like to be built. This template document has different sections (with examples of what you can
write) that requires you to fill in your thought-process for how you would execute each step from
idea to launch.
This is your chance to shine. Impress your CEO!

2. With the help of the app, customers can quickly locate and buy fresh vegetables grown nearby from
local farmers.
3. For a healthy life, every family should need a quality food with fresh&organic vegetables and we will
be the one in the market who can achieve it.
1. -The app will connect users with local farmers who have products for sale by using geolocation technology.
-Customers will be able to use the app to instantly place orders and view a list of the products that are
now available.
2. -We will start a truck as first phase and based on response we are going to expand it.
-Based on number of sales and reviews we are going to take a Go/No Go decision either to expand it or
continue it.
3. On the early stage of sales, we will give freebies or implementing buy one and get one free. After a while
we will discontinue the offers randomly.
4Ps
Who would be your early adopters and how would you acquire them?
1. 4Ps: -
Place - We will do a contract with farmers within the radius of 40 kms of city for 3 years till we reach
our sales target.
Promotion - we will do social media campaigns, advertising through newspapers and mouth publicity
as quality of our products is our major concern.
Price - Until we reach our target audience, price will be lower than the market.
Product - we are more concentrated on our products which are only higher-quality items.
2. Our early adopters are working couples, House wife’s and fitness freaks. Generally, fresh&organic
farm products are available rare in the market and they are costly. It’s easy to catch and hold such
audiences who has knowledge about the fresh&organic vegetables and fruits
1. We will place a field manager nearby farms which we’ve contracted, they will check and analyze
the quality and freshness of the product Daily.
2. We will also gather customer feedback every week and we will offer them discount coupons
for every feedback Which they can use the discount coupon for next order.
Launch Strategy
1. We will launch a free app which allows customer either they can order a product (or) subscribe
package for quarterly or yearly. We will do D2D promotions with brochures and advertising
through content creators on YouTube and Instagram. By this process, we will easily reach the
customers within a short period of time
2. We will roll out the app gradually, starting with a selected set of users so we can obtain feedback
and make any required changes before releasing it to more people.
3. We will provide launching offers for first 2 weeks to gain more customers with in a short span of
time.
