Lesson 1: Problems Involving Quartiles of Grouped Data


What is it
Recall that for the grouped data, before computing for the value of Q 1 and Q3, it is important to determine
first the Q1 and the Q3 class interval. The Q1 class is the class interval where the [ ]

What is it

For grouped data, The kth decile denoted by Dk is computed as follows:

where: LB = lower boundary of the Dk class

Lesson 3: Problems Involving Percentiles of Grouped Data


What is it
Recall that the percentile of grouped data is used to characterize values according to the percentage below
them. In finding percentiles of a grouped data is similar to that of finding quartiles and deciles of a grouped data.
The kth percentile , denoted by Pk is computed as follows:

where : LB = lower boundary of the kth percentile class
