INTRODUCTION
The Company
The Product
The HEC Series is the latest Air Cooled Condenser units from Citec International that
are engineered to run seamlessly together with &LWHF¶VLQQRYDWLYHPrecision Air
Conditioning indoor unit. Its compactness and high performance well meet the
dHPDQGRIWRGD\¶V3UHFLVLRQ$LU&onditioning market.
The HEC Series is designed for installation where the outdoor area is limited but
required high heat rejection. The units can be arranged in both vertical or horizontal
airflow direction thus provides great versatility in installation.
The Range
The Citec HEC range of Air Cooled Condensers is available in total 7 models.
Nominal duties range from 23 kW through to 90 kW total heat of rejection at 15Co 'T
(Condensing Temperature minus Ambient Temperature).

This range of condensers can be installed into either a horizontal or vertical air flow
configuration, using the mounting feet (supplied loose). The feet have holes for securing the
unit in position when installed. Air is drawn through the coil and over the fan giving uniform
distribution and optimum performance.

PERFORMANCE
The fans provide the above air volumes with no restrictions on air inlet and outlet.
Restrictions will reduce the air flow with corresponding reduction in performance.
Capacity Correction
QC = QR x C x 'T /15
Where,
QC = Corrected capacity
QR = Catalogue rated capacity
C = Correction factor for ambient temperature
'T = Condensing Temperature ± Ambient Temperature

a) Condensers should not be sited more than 20m above or 5m below the base
of the air conditioning unit. Please consult factory for installation that exceed
these limits.
b) Oil traps should be installed at 6m interval along the vertical discharge riser.

(a) Ensure that the site is level and that it can support the weight of the equipment.
(b) Condensers must be located in an unobstructed position to ensure adequate air
circulation through the cooling coils.
(c) Care must be taken to avoid "short circuit" air paths and recirculation of air from one
unit to another.
(d) When the condensers are installed in horizontal air flow configuration, the pipe
connection should be at the right hand side of the condenser (when standing facing
the fan, please refer to the diagram in Dimension & Weight Section). Do not install the
condensers upside down. No piping shall be at the top and bottom of condensers.
(e) Whenever possible, position Condensers such that they are reasonably sheltered
from strong winds and avoid prevailing winds blowing directly onto the fan(s).
(f) Units should be bolted down in all cases.

ELECTRICAL DATA
NOTE:
Supply cable sizes must not be determined from maximum FLA figures only -
other criteria must be considered, e.g. length of run (and associated volt-drop),
installation methods and grouping factors, disconnect times etc. All of these have
a de-rating influence on the current-carrying capacity of cables.
