The scores for the other indicators either held steady or declined. 2. According to the Economist Intelligence Unit, the Vietnamese government continue to focus on supporting the domestic economy, keeping inflationary pressures in check and securing confidence in Vietnam's currency, the dong. Real GDP is expected to average 7.2% a year, underpinned by strong growth in consumption, investment and exports. 3. The overall Ease of Doing Business ranking improved 10 spots to 78th this year. Vietnam's ranking improved in the areas of Starting a Business, Dealing with Construction Permits, Getting Credit, Paying Taxes and Closing a Business.
