INTRODUCTION

T20 is the input module for the thermal check of electrical machines (transformers and mo-
tors).
Extremely economic and easy to use, it allows a reliable check through PTC temperature
sensors according to DIN44081 and 44082 standards.

2) ALARM INTERVENTION

T20 monitoring unit detects the alarm condition when temperature control sensor set ex-
ceeds 1800 ohms (±5%), condition where surely ∆nat has been exceeded.

3) L1 ALARM RELAY WORKING

L1 relay normally works when the monitoring unit is fed and therefore the N.O. contact is
closed. In case of an alarm on PTC of L1 or a fault in the monitoring unit itself, the relay gets
de-energised with consequent closing of N.C contact.

4) L2 TRIP RELAY WORKING

L2 relay is normally de-energised and gets energised in case of an alarm on PTC of L2.

5) PTC SENSOR FAULT DIAGNOSIS

If one of the PTC breaks down, the relay referred to the input where it is connected inter-
venes. .
When the machine is cold, the 3 PTC sets should not exceed 250 ohms.
Please find here follow the characteristic curve of the PTC’s according to DIN44081 and
44082 standards.

7)RULES FOR WARRANTY

The Product purchased is covered by manufacturer's warranty or the seller's terms and con-
ditions set forth in the "General Conditions of Sale Tecsystem srl", available at
www.tecsystem.it and / or purchase agreement.
The warranty is considered valid only when the product will be damaged by causes attributa-
ble to TECSYSTEM srl, such as manufacturing or components defects.
The warranty is invalid if the Product proves tampered / modified, incorrectly connected, be-
cause voltages outside the limits, non-compliance with the technical data for use and as-
sembly, as described in this instruction manual.
Any action about warranty is always at our factory in Corsico-MI, Italy as stated by the
" General Conditions of Sale Tecsystem srl ".

Tecsystem Srl do not answer for damages caused by the monitoring unit due to PTC sen-
sors which have not resistance features as shown in the table at page 4.
NB To verify the correct working of the monitoring unit in all its functions, we suggest to use
the SIM-PTC simulator.

RAEE: This symbol marked on the device means that it must be subject to trash separation
and collection. Therefore the user shall deliver it to the relevant trash separation and col-
lection centers or deliver it to the dealer against purchasing of a new device of comparable
type.

8) IMPORTANT NOTICE

Before carrying out the insulation test on the switchboard where the monitoring unit is
mounted, you have to disconnect it from the mains in order to avoid serious damages.

When the monitoring unit is directly fed from the secondary winding of the transformer to be
protected, it can be damaged by high-intensity overvoltages: these problems occur if the
main switch is connected without load. Above mentioned problems are much more evident
when the 220 Vac voltage is directly taken from the transformer secondary winding bars and
there is a fixed capacitor battery to phase the transformer itself.

To protect the monitoring device from line overvoltages, we suggest to use the PT-73-
220 electronic discharger, designed by TECSYSTEM S.r.l. for this specific purpose.
