Exercise 1. Manual Plotting of Lot Boundaries Using Bearing and Distance

This document provides instructions for manually plotting lot boundaries in CAD using two different coordinate systems: 1. Bearing and distance (polar coordinates) which involves drawing lines specified by distance and bearing values between points. 2. Northings and eastings (rectangular coordinates) which involves placing points using provided northing and easting coordinate values. The instructions cover commands for setting up the drawing area, inserting points and lines, using osnap settings, creating boundaries, and calculating areas. Following these steps allows plotting lot boundaries based on provided surveying data.

b. Angle > Precision Select “ N0d00’00”E ”
c. Insertion scale > Select “ Meters”
d. Click “OK”

2. “PDSIZE” COMMAND
Command: PDSIZE <enter>
Enter new value for PDSIZE: 1 <enter>

3. “PDMODE” Command
Command: PDMODE <enter>
Enter new value for PDSIZE: 35 <enter>

Note:
C – circle
Re – regenerating windows/refresh
Z- zoom > E- extent
E- erase
X – explode
ESC- escape/ to cancel command
L – line
PL – polyline
CO/CP – copy
PO – points
F – Fillet
BO – boundary creation

4. For drawing area

Circle <enter>
Specify center: 20000,20000 <enter>
Radius: 20000 <enter>

Note: 20000,20000 coordinates of all BLLM No. 1 of every CADASTRE

LPCS (Local Plane Coordinate System)

5. For plotting the lot boundaries

Assumed that the tie point is the BLLM No. 1

Right Click “OSNAP” Select “Settings”

Mark “ endpoint, center, node”

Click “OK”

Line <enter>
Specify first point: Click the “center of the circle”
Specify next point: type “@distance<bearing” <enter>
Example: @989.56<N34d42’E <enter>
Specify next point: type the next line (same format)
Line DISTANCE BEARING
T-1 1005.60 S 23 d 45’ E
1-2 20.2246 N 62 d 49’ E
2-3 13.0828 S 51 d 5’ E
3-4 16. 8873 S 22 d 39’ W
4-5 29.8707 N 83 d 6’W
5-1 13.5781 N 36 d 2’ E

*Check the end points ( if the end point and starting point does not closed)

Use “FILLET” COMMAND

F <enter>
Select first object: (line 5-1)
Select second object: (line 1-2)

6. BOUNDARY CREATION (polygon/object) / check the area

BO <enter>

Object type: select “polyline”

Click “OK”
Pick internal point: click inside the lot/polygon <enter>

To check the area/perimeter

Command: type “AREA” <enter>
Specify first corner or [Object/Add/Subtract]: type “O” to choose object <enter>
Select Object: Click the boundary

***in the command line shows the AREA and PERIMETER of the object/polygon
