• Crane Interface – DS444, BCAN or parallell (plus ZCAN)
• Template based logic, one for each spreader type
Midrange Advantages

• Faster User Interaction

• Using computer/phone/tablet power to process graphics
• Easier User Interaction using WiFi
• No need to climb the spreader or connect cable to view status
• Screen size depending on users preference
• Input using mouse/keyboard
• Adaptability
• Similarity to SCS3 means a lot will be recognized
• RML GUI easily customable using Excel file
• Future
• Green Zone connection
System Overview - Hardware
• PLC – IFM CR0032
• 4 CAN interfaces
• CAN1 = Spreader Network
• CAN2 = DS444
• CAN3 = RML
• CAN4 BCAN / ZCAN
• 32 bit CPU
• 16 inputs
• 16 outputs
• USB 2.0
• CoDeSys 2.3
• 10 – 32 VDC
System Overview - Hardware
• RML - Remote Monitoring and Log Unit (Electrum WCB)

CoDeSys V2.3 – Midrange Application

Note!
Very similar to
SCS3
CoDeSys V2.3 – Midrange Application

• Built with CoDeSys V2.3

• Spreader Application more or less directly copied from SCS3
• Most of configurable blocks are very similar to the SCS3
• Component Variables stored in persistent memory
• Predefined blocks for adding extra signals for easier project
configuration
• No visualizations
Diagnostics

• Diagnostics on SCS2 level

• Built as CoDeSys v2.3 lib
• Customized for Midrange platform
• Creates events that are displayed and stored in the RML and sent
to the crane (depending on configuration)
• Event log is downloadable: Bromma LogViewer can be used for
better overview, sorting and troubleshooting
RML

• Standard for MHC OEM, ”optional” but recommended for other

• Configured using Ms Excel, file uploaded using Wi-Fi
• GUI available via Wi-Fi using either computer, tablet or smartphone

GUI config GUI

RML GUI

• Several top menus, each containing at least one submenu

• Header with most important status
• Edit component parameters
• Save/reset parameters to factory default
• Check spreader status
• Check crane status
• Perform node search and change nodeID
• Fetch/View log
• Admin tools (Passwords, WiFi settings, Software updates)
Version Handling

• No source code downloading = No project upload

• Use file version number to track changes and for software
verification
• Always store latest software in Bromma Source Safe
• Always follow the release instructions about what needs to be
stored in Bromma Source Safe
