How To Calibrate The Signal in K-Chief

This document provides 8 steps for calibrating tags in a process control system: 1) Log in as the chief user. 2) Set the PS configuration mode. 3) Right click the tag to calibrate and select the PS number. 4) Go to PS operation and select the PS to update. 5) Select the PS containing "0" for the redundancy group. 6) Right click the tag, show connection, and open the IO terminal block. 7) Calibrate the signal in the IO terminal block by setting the min and max sensor values. 8) Store the configuration, restart the redundant PS, and wait for it to become operational.

Step 1 : Log in chief user

Step 2 : Set PS Configuration Mode

Step 3 : Right click the tag(e.g Tank , Valve) you want to calibrate , the PS number at the top of the
menu .
Step 4 : Go to PS Operation

Step 5 : In PS Operation dialog , select the PS you want to update in available PS’s , set Configuration
mode for redundancy group ,now you can update software.PS031 and PS131 are redundancy group ,
select PS number containing “0” .
Step 6 : Right click the tag you want to calibrate ,show connection , click IO , open IO terminal Block

Step 7 : IO terminal Block , calibration can be done in Signal conditioning ,update the value in Scale ,
below picture show the Tank level signal, when Tank empty set sensor value into sensor scale min ,
when Tank full set sensor value into sensor scale max .click Apply to finish the calibration.
Step 8 : Go to PS Operation , select the PS you have done the calibration in available PS’s , click Store
PS Configuration ,wait for Last storing ok ,then select another PS that in redundancy group ,click
Normal restart, PS boot , wait for PS operational .
