CHAPTER Ⅲ

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

This chapter will focus on the process of making the study, the
structure on how to determine the levels of awareness of grade 10
students on the implementing of the DepEd Order No. 49 in Southern City
Colleges Central Campus.

Research Design

The researchers will use descriptive quantitative design to


determine the levels of awareness of grade 10 students on the
implementing of the DepEd Order No. 49 in Southern City Colleges
Central Campus.

Research Locale

This study will be conducted in Southern City Colleges Central


Campus in Senior High School Department. That is located at Pilar street
Zamboanga City, Philippines Academic year of 2021-2022. Hisorically,
Southern City Colleges was founded in December 7 in the year 1946 and
founded by Francisco M. Caliolio Sr. Before it named Southern City
Colleges, it is established before as Southern City Colleges Academy in
1946, then in the year 1952 it is named Southern City Colleges
Commerce and as the year 1962 it is established as Southern City
Colleges.

Research Respondents
The respondents of this study will be the grade 10 students of
Southern City Colleges Central Campus.

Sampling Technique

The researchers will use the simple random sampling technique to


gather the respondents which is the grade 10 students of Southern City
Colleges Central Campus.

Sampling Size

The sampling size of this study will be the 84 Grade 10 students of


Southern City Colleges Central Campus.

Research Instrument

The study will utilize a survey on the form of a survey questionnaire


that includes questions that can be answered with a suggested response
using the 5 point Likert scale to identify the levels of awareness. (Very
Much Aware, Much Aware, Aware, Not Much Aware, Not Aware)

Validity and Reliability

The questionnaires will be submitted to the research advisor, Ms.


Aysa I. Julbasari to ensure the validity and reliability of questions
relevance to the items of research problem.
Statistical Treatment

The gathered data will be analyzed using percentage, frequency


count, weighted mean, and verbal interpretation. The data taken from the
questionnaire will be analyzed using simple percentages to determine the
the levels of awareness of grade 10 students on the implementing of the
DepEd Order No. 49 in Southern City Colleges Central Campus.
