Press the white button


and open the printer.

Decouple the lid and printer -


the both part should be unlocked

Unlock the lid of the printer using a flat-bladed


screwdriver as shown in the picture. 4

Unlock the hook at the both side of lid using a flat-bladed screwdriver.

① Release the LCD cable fix.
② Disconnect the LCD cable from the mainboard.

Decouple the cables from the Main B’D


★ Be cautious not to break the cable during this process.

Remove the earth cable attached to the Main B’D using a flat blade
driver.

Pull the Main B’D toward the left and unlock the hooks

3 2-1 Main Board Setting

How to set Main B’D after


replacing .

① Before removing the original


Main B’D :
+ Go to printer driver – Printer
Properties  Advanced Setting
Mode
+ Check the basic setting of the
printer and note these settings.
② Remove the mainboard and
install a new Main B’D.
③ Upload the F/W
④ Go to advanced setting on
printer driver and input the
original settings and save them.
⑤ Run “Card Printer Test
program” and set ribbon sensor
value newly
(Correct ribbon sensor value :
530~570)

(Error code 10)

1. Check if Cover Top is closed properly.


2. When Error 10 happens even if the Cover Top is closed properly,
① disassemble the covers and
②check the status of related sensors and cables.

the initialization process on power on.

Card Feeding Error
(Error Code 12)
1. Press Eject button at the front cover – check if the main
feeding motor is working normally.

1-1 . If the main feeding motor is not working :


Diagnose the main motor cable or replace the main feeding motor.

1-2 . If the main feeding motor is working as usual :


-. Open Top Cover and clean the card path sensors.
-. Check the value of X-start and End, and Y-off
set and compare it with default values (X-start
12 and End 15, and Y-off set 18)
-. Check the value of path sensor.
-. Disassemble the case and main board,
then diagnose the card path sensors and their cable
-. Replace card path sensors.

1 If the main motor is not working
when press “eject Button” at the front cover.
Be sure that the cable of main
motor, cable # CN5, is properly
connected to the Main B’D, Right-
Bottom.

Replace the main feeding motor if


the error is lasting despite of the
correct cable connection.

How to replace the main feeding


motor:

① Unscrew 3 points (screw type :


3*8 1W) fixing the main feeding
3*8 1W motor.
② Unscrew one point at the bottom
1 of the printer. (screw type: 3*6 Ts)
③ Decouple the cable from the main
feeding motor.
④ Widen the space between the
2 printer frames and pull out the motor.

Ribbon Error
(Error Code 14)
* Case: Failure in seeking for the right position of ribbon, color ribbon
only

1. Be Sure that the genuine ribbon is loaded into the printer.

2. Check the value of ribbon sensor and Adjust the value. (Proper value :
530~570).

3. Diagnose the light transmission sensor and the light reception sensor.

4. Fault on Board-replace a Board

How to check the ribbon sensor


value and set the value :

①Remove the ribbon inside the


printer.


A.Run Card Designer program 

folder  Run Card Printer.exe

③Click “Print” at the top menu

(ERROR 34)

1. Be sure the cards at the hopper were placed properly.

2. Clean the roller at the hopper.

3. Diagnose Hopper sensor & Motor and replace if necessary.

① Clean the roller at the hopper using a Long T- cleaning card


② Check the cable connection of CN22 ,CN24 , CN71 ,CN73 on the main board.

Replacing the motor at Hopper - unscrew

Replacing hopper tray Assy : Press the each side of the hopper tray as
shown and pull the hopper tray Assy out.

Error in Card Flipper
(Error code 50~57)

1. E “50~51” – Check the cables at a flip-over or replace the flip-over B/D.


2. E “52~53” – Check the cables at a flip-over and a flipping motor
3. E “54~57” – Check the sensors at a flip-over and a feeding motor.

(Please refer to the flipper disassembly/assembly manual for the detail


descriptions

1 Error in Card Flipper - E “50~51”

Diagnose the cable (CN99) and


its connection to the Main B’D

If the cable CN99 is OK, replace


the flipper B’D.

How to replace the Flipper B’D :

①Decouple the cables


connected to the B’D.
★ not to break the cable
② Release the hook fixing the
flipper B’D.

After replacing the flipper B’D,


connect the cables onto the
B’D again.

Be sure that you connect the


cables to the correct
connectors.

②Unscrew each point at the

★ Be sure that you put the sensor


into the right position when you

Encoding Problem

1. Check card is fed into a printer correctly .

2. Check the type of card. Low or Hi Coercivity.

3. Check for dirt at MS-Head and clean if necessary.


(Use CR80 Cleaning Card )

4. Check the cable.

5. Change MS-Head.

6. Change MSRW Board.

Feed a CR-80 Clean card through a
manual feeding slot at the front of the

Ribbon or Printing Error

* Case : Wrong Ribbon Working and Printing Failure.

1. Verify if the certificated/ genuine ribbon is loaded.

2. Check the ribbon and change it if it is damaged or misaligned.

3. Click the ribbon set button at the front of a printer in order to


diagnose the operation of the ribbon motor.

• If the ribbon motor is working but ribbon is not winding : replace


the rubber clutch.
• If the ribbon motor is not working : replace the ribbon motor.

How to replace the rubber


clutch :
① Unscrew the point at
ribbon gear (5*10 2W)

bearing and gears and

follow the right order of parts

How to replace the ribbon
motor :

① Unscrew one point at the


center of ribbon gear and
remove the Spring, Bearing
and gear(5*10 2W)

② Unscrew the one point at


the main board and release
the mainboard locking ;
pushing the main board
toward the backside.

③ Disconnect the cable CN 8


from the main board.

④ Unscrew 2 points fixing the


ribbon motor Assy

⑤ Unscrew 2 points (2.6 * 6


BH) fixing the ribbon motor to
the Assy and then replace the
motor.

Ribbon or Printing Error

* Case : Card Image missing or not printed

1. Check the operation of the encoder wheel.

2. Check and replace the encoder wheel sensor

3. Adjust the value of ribbon sensor (proper value : 530~570)


( Refer to “How to check and set ribbon sensor value” at the part of
mainboard replace .)

3 Replace the ribbon Encoder Wheel & Sensor

Rotate the encoder wheel


to check the movement of Rotate the encoder wheel by
the gears behind the hand - Check if the gear moves
wheel. smoothly.

If the Gear doesn’t move


smoothly, replace the ribbon
encoder & Gear.

Remove the screw (2.6*6 2W) at


the center of the encoder wheel
and then replace the gear and
wheel.

If you need to replace the sensor,


unlock the hook to release the
sensor and then replace it.

Partial Printing Error

1. Adjust the value of Thermal Print Head (TPH) density within


the Window Driver Properties.

2. Adjust the angle of TPH.

3. Change the TPH head.

How to Check/Set Resistance Value of Card Printer

Check the resistance value of


card printer head on its label :
R= XXXX

Go to Printer Properties (on


PC)Control  Advanced
Settings  TPH setting Section.
Check the right TPH resistance
value was set correctly.

How to Set Angle of TPH


Do a half-unscrew of the point
at left side of print head Assy
● Surely Screw this point after
setting the TPH.

You can adjust the angle of TPH with


turning the screw at the left-up
coroner of TPH ASS’Y :

● Useful TIP
Turning a Screw clock wise :
→ Color printing gets lighter and
Mono printing gets darker.
Turning a Screw anti-clock wise :
→ Mono printing gets lighter and
Color printing gets darker. 57

★ Do not make more than 2 turns


How to Replace Print Head
How to Replace TPH ASS’Y :
① Unscrew the earth cable on TPH
ASS’Y
② Press TPH HINGE
③ Push the TPH Assy toward the top
of printer and outward with pressing
TPH HINGE still.
④ Remove the TPH cable and Earth
cable from the TPH ASS’Y.
⑤ Disassemble the TPH ASS’Y
Completely.
⑥ Fit TPH ASS’Y in reverse orders.

TPH Setting after Replace the Print Head

① Go to Printer driver on PC  Printing Properties  Control Tab  Advanced


Setting :

② Input the Resistance value of new print head. The resistance value can be
found on the label of the head : R=XXXX

③ Check the right model of print head is selected : KPE2

④ Click “Save” button and recheck the setting with “Load” button.
