MINI RESEARCH REPORT

The participant in my research is Syarifah Kusuma Wardani. She studied at the
Sarjanawiyata Tamansiswa University and she is in semester 5 right now. She lives with her
mother and her brother. She has a cat. She conducts online classes every day and does her
assginment. On the weekends, she helps with the housework and also does her college
assignments. She first learned English when she was in junior high school. During this
pandemic, she learned English through YouTube and social media. The social media she often
uses to learn English is Twitter. Her favorite lecturer is Miss Yuyun. According to her, the most
difficult subject is grammar.
In collecting data, the instrument that I use is the interview. The data that I looking for are
data 1 is the plural noun form (-s/es), data 2 is the verb past (–ed), and data 3 is the 3rd singular
person verb in the present tense (–s /es). The results of the interviews I conducted were later
converted into written transcripts, coding, and classifying were then carried out. In finding the
percentage of each data, the formula used is the percentage = C / N x 100%. C = amount of
words correct and N = amount of words correct + amount of words false. The percentage
results of each data are presented in the table below.
Name Stage 2 Stage 3 Stage 4
SKW 34/41 13/21 7/15
82,9% 61,9% 46,7%

Based on the table above, it can be seen that in stage 2, namely plural noun data (-s/es), the
participant gets a percentage of 82.9% which is obtained from 34/41. In stage 3, namely the past
(–ed) verb data, the participant gets a percentage of 61.9% which is obtained from 13/2. At stage
4, namely 3rd singular person verb data in the present tense (-s/es), the participant gets a
percentage of 46.7% which is obtained from 7/15. And it can be seen that the participant passed
on stage 2, regarding the plural noun (–s/es) form. The conclusion is that the participant (SKW)
is in stage 2, namely plural noun (-s/es) form.

Step 3 Classifying

C= total yang benar tiap nomor pada coding

N= total bener + salah tiap nomor

 Data 1: Kata benda plural reguler yang menggunakan –s

C = 34

N= 34+7= 41

Prosentase = (C/N) x 100%

= (34/41) x 100%

= 82, 9%

 Data 2: Kata kerja past yang ada -ed

C =13

N= 13+ 8 = 21

Prosentase = (C/N) x 100%

= (13/21) x 100%

= 61, 9%

 Data 3: kata kerja 3rd person singular dalam simple present (ada tambahan -s/es)
