Scan to Gmail Using 2 Step Verification


and App Password
Purpose
The purpose of this article is to explain the Scan to Gmail SMTP settings on bizhub MFP
using Two (2) Step verification and App password.

Information
• Log into the Gmail account selected for your bizhub scan to Gmail credentials.

• Go to My Account and select Manage your Google Account


• Select Security then Scroll down to Signing in to Google and select 2-Step
Verification
• Select Get Started to begin
• Enter account password and select Next

• Step 1 of 3: Set up phone for text message or phone call


• Enter a phone number and method to receive a verification code, select Next

• Step 2 of 3: Confirm that it works


• Enter the verification code and select Next
• Step 3 of 3: Turn on 2-step Verification
• Select Turn On
• Once 2-Step Verification is ON for this account, an email verification is sent to your
inbox.
• Confirm email titled "2-Step Verification turned on ", then proceed to enabling App
passwords
• Select Security and App passwords
• NOTE: the option for App passwords is now available to set up

• Enter account password to continue and then select Next


• Click on Select device scroll down menu and choose Other (custom name)
• Type in the name you would like to use and select Generate
• The App Password is the 16-character code in the yellow bar. Select Done to
complete
• The App password is now generated and will replace the scan to email password on
your bizhub.

• NOTE: Generated password will work only for one device and cannot be transferred
to another device. If you need to set up more than one device, please generate
additional App passwords.
• The App password now reflects in use on your bizhub
• Ensure the App password is entered into the password field on your bizhub,
select OK to complete

Configure MFP SMTP setting


Open PageScope Web Connect
• Enable E-Mail TX Setting
• Enter SMTP Server information
• Enter Device Mail Address
• Admin E-Mail address is found under System Setting -> Machine Setting
• Enter Valid email account under User ID
• Select Password is changed and enter App Password here
