State Weather Forecast Bulletin for Uttar Pradesh
15th January 2023

1. Significant Weather Features:

♦ The Western Disturbance as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km
above mean sea level roughly along Long. 75°E to the north of 32°N has moved away eastnorthe
astwards.

♦ A fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect Western Himalayan Region from the night of 18th January, 2023.

# In the influence of above system:-

♦ Weather is most likely dry over the state on 15th to 19th January 2023.
♦ Dense Fog is very likely at isolated places over West UP & at a few places over East UP from 15th to 17th
Jan 2023.
♦ Cold wave conditions very likely at isolated places over West UP from 15th to 17th January 2023.

2. Main Weather Observations: -

Weather was dry over the state. Shallow to Moderate fog occurred at isolated places over West UP and Shallow
fog occurred at isolated places over East UP. Cold wave occurred at isolated places over West UP.

On Saturday, The day temperatures were fell markedly in Bareilly, Meerut & Jhansi divisions; fell
appreciably in Moradabad & Agra divisions and no large changed in the remaining divisions over the state. They
were markedly below normal (-5.0 0C or less) in Meerut division; appreciably below normal (-3.1°C to -5.0°C) in
Varanasi, Prayagraj, Jhansi & Agra divisions; below normal (-1.6°C to -3.0°C) in Bareilly division; above normal
(1.6°C to 3.0°C) in Ayodhya division and normal ( -1.5°C to 1.5°C ) in the remaining divisions over the state. The
Highest maximum temperature over the state was 27.1°C recorded at Varanasi(BHU).

The night temperatures were fell markedly in Jhansi, Agra, Meerut divisions and no large changed in the
remaining divisions over the state. they were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) in Gorakhpur & Varanasi
divisions; above normal (1.6°C to 3.0°C) in Ayodhya, Prayagraj & Moradabad divisions; below normal (-1.6°C to -
3.0°C) in Agra , Meerut divisions and normal ( -1.5°C to 1.5°C ) in the remaining divisions over the state. The
lowest minimum temperature over the state was 3.8°C recorded at Agra (T).

1. SYNOPTIC CONDITIONS

(c) Temperature Outlook: -

♦ Maximum Temperature is very likely to gradually to rise by 4-5 0C during next 24 hours and thereafter very
likely to no large change over West UP and there is no large change over East UP.
♦ Minimum Temperature is very likely to gradually to fall by 2-3 0C during next 48 hours and thereafter
gradually rise by 3-5 0C over West UP for 3 days and in East UP min temp is no large change during next 2
days & thereafter fall by 2-3 0C.
