Caroling Contest Guidelines

The Nutmnhs Caroling Contest will take place on December 16, 2022. It is open to Grade 7-12 students who must perform in groups of 15-30 members. Each group will have 5-10 minutes to perform Christmas carols, Filipino songs, or OPM medleys. Performances will be judged on showmanship, choreography and creativity, stage presence, and audience impact. The judges' decisions are final.

NUTMNHS CAROLING CONTEST

December 16, 2022


GUIDELINES:
1. The competition is open to all Grade 7-12 students.
2. The group must consist of 15 to 30 members per Grade level.
3. The group may perform any Christmas carols or medley Filipino/OPM songs.
4. The performance time is limited to 5-10 minutes.
5. The group can perform in any appropriate attire or costume.
6. The use of offensive and rude words are strictly prohibited.
7. A Capella or with musical or DIY instrument used as accompaniment is accepted.
8. All contestants must be at the venue 10 minutes before the event starts. Late contestants
without valid reason shall be disqualified.
9. Criteria for judging:
A. Showmanship/Overall Performance - (50%)
How well the performer is able to express the meaning and mood of the song/ Music
selection. / How coordinated the performers are in regards to syncing of vocals and
interaction on stage.
B. Choreography & Creativity– (25%)
How well the group is able to be creative and use the stage and each other to create a
show.
C. Stage Presence – (15%)
Stage discipline/ Facial Expression/ Costume/ Attire
D. Audience Impact – (10%)
The audience's and judges' reaction/ entertainment value to the overall performance.
10. The decision of the judges is final and irrevocable.
