Practice Sheet IX Quadrilaterals

This document contains a practice sheet with 15 mathematics problems related to quadrilaterals for Class 9 students. The problems cover various properties and theorems about different types of quadrilaterals like trapezoids, rhombi, parallelograms including: finding angles, using properties of diagonals and midpoints, and proving relationships between angles and sides. The practice sheet is from Reliance Foundation School in Surat, India for the academic year 2022-2023.

MATHEMATICS

CLASS: IX Quadrilaterals

1. In a trapezium ABCD; AB║CD and AD = BC. If ∠D = 70o, then find ∠C.

2. In Rhombus ABCD; diagonals intersect at O. If AO = 4 cm, DO = 3cm, then

find the perimeter of the rhombus.

3. Diagonals AC and BD of parallelogram ABCD intersect at O. If ∠BOC = 90o

and ∠BDC = 50o, then find ∠OAB.
4. If one angle of a parallelogram is 36o less than twice its adjacent angle, then
find the angles of parallelogram.
5. In a parallelogram, show that the angle bisectors of two adjacent angles
intersect at right angles.
6. Bisectors of two adjacent angles A and B of Quadrilateral ABCD intersect at O.
Prove that 2∠𝐴OB = ∠C + ∠𝐷.
7. ABCD is a parallelogram and line segments AX and CY bisect ∠A and ∠C
respectively. Prove that AYCX is a parallelogram.
8. Two parallel lines l and m are intersected by a transversal p. Show that the
quadrilateral formed by the bisectors of interior angles is a rectangle.
9. Prove that the bisector of angles of a parallelogram enclose a rectangle.

10. E and F are respectively the mid = points of the non- parallel sides AD and BC

11. Prove that the line segment joining the mid – points of the diagonals of a
trapezium is parallel to the parallel sides and equal to half of their difference.
12. P, Q, R and S are respectively the mid – points of the sides AB, BC, CD and
DA of a quadrilateral ABCD in which AC = BD. Prove that PQRS is a
rhombus.

13. ABCD is a parallelogram and E is the mid – point of AD. A line through D,
drawn parallel to EB, meets AB produced at F and BC at L. Prove that:
i)AF = 2 DC, ii)DF = 2DL.

14. AD is the median of ∆ABC. E is mid – point of AD. BE produced to meet AC
