Once upon a time, a poor little boy came into a little village. He was very hungry and weak.
He knocked on very door in the village and asked for some food. But nobody cared about him.
Nobody wanted to help the little boy.
Finally, a generous old woman helped him. She gave him shelter and a meal. When the boy
wanted to leave, the old woman gave him a “lesung”, a big wooden mortar for pounding rice. She
reminded him, “please remember, if there is a flood you must save yourself. Use this “lesung” as a
boat. The “lessung” was heavy but he was happy to have to have it. He tranked the old woman.
The little boy continued on his journey. While he was passing though the village, he saw
many people gathering on a field. The boy came closer and saw a stick stuck in the ground. People
challenged each other to pull out that stick. Evebody tried, but no one succeeded.
“May I try ?” asked the little boy. The crowd laughed mockingly?
The boy wanted to try his luck so he steeped forward and pulled out the stick. He could do it very
easily. Everbody was dumbfounded.
Suddenly, from the hole left by the stick, water spouted out. It did not stop until it flooded
the village. And no one was safe from the water except the little boy and the generous old woman
who gave him shelter and a meal. As she told him, he used the “lesung” as a boat and picked up the
old woman. The whole village became a huge lake. It is known as Rawa Pening Lake in Salatiga,
Central Java, Indonesia.

just went home. I was very tired. There was no other choice, I had to walk home
again. When I arrived home, I was so tired. I was very angry but when I saw my
friend’s broad smile greet me in front of the door, I just could not help laughing.

Nowadays museum becomes a great and valuable tourist object. There are manymuseums in
Indonesia, one of which is the Aceh Tsunami Museum. It is located on Jalan Iskandar Muda Street,
Aceh. The museum building has adopted the traditional raised Aceh House. Stepping inside, one
will find a narrow corridor with water flowing from either side accompanied by a scary rumbling
sound, reminding us of the devastations made by the 2004 tsunami. The Museum also features an
electronic simulation of the Indian Ocean earthquake, pictures of the casualties, and testimonies
of survivors. The museum has two floors. The first floor is an open space area which serves as a

My school is one of my favourite places in town. It is a green and beautiful school. It has
many large trees which make the air around my school very fresh and clean. It covers a very large
area surrounded by high fences. Overall, it has30 buildings area arranged to form a rectangle with

When entering the school, we are greeted by a billboard saying “Let’s go forward with us”
in front of the gate. Two security men are on duty near the gate every day. After passing though
the gate, we pass a parking area which can accommodate all vehicles of the teachers and

Every morning the headmaster and teachers always line up in front of it to welcome the students.

there are small flower gardens which add the beuty of my school. We like to play and learn there.
My school also has a large canteen. It is located behind the hall. I enjoy having lunch
there. My school’s canteen seels a lot of foods like snacks, cakes, meatballs, fried chicken, rice,
noodles, and various drinks. Though it seels a variety of foods and drinks, it is always kept clean.

Jasmine is a very famous flower. People around the world know this flower because of its unique
fragrance. Jasmines mostly live in tropical and warm area.
Jasmine shrubs reach a height of 11 to 15 feet and grow approximately 13 to 24 inches per
year. Jasmines leaves are either evergreen or deciduous. A jasmine leaf is arranged oppsite in
most species. The leaf shape is simple, trifoliate or pinnate with 5- 9 leaflets, each up to two and
half inches long. Most Jasmine species bear white flowers, which are about 1 inch in size.
Jasmine flower oil is used in high-grade parfumes and cosmetics, such as creams, oil,
soaps, and shapos. The two types of jasmine which are used for oil production are the Jasminum
grandiflorum and Jasmine offinale. The nectar of the fragrant flowers of Carolina Jasminum and
Gelsemium sempervirens is poisonous, although its dried roots are used as a sedative in medicinal
preparations.
