ABSTRACT

During the industrial training at Jalur Cahaya Sdn. Bhd which began on November
24, there are many users using GIS application in all branches of industry which is
done including SYABAS contractors of the Jalur Cahaya Sdn.Bhd. At JCSB
companies play an important role for add data consumer point, geocoding working,
leaks registration and registration of assets. In GIS, assets and tools to register, should
be recorded and reviewed at their position coordinates must be accurate. Besides, GIS
also used in hydraulic modeling department which is used to produced map of
pipeline network. GIS helps user to choose suitable location to locate any asset and
contain information needed to build model.
The significant of GIS is to monitor network environments where water features such
as valves, taps, and pipeline and also for the event registration such as Logger point,
pipe burst and customer complaints. In GIS, this software can easily manage the
planning work such as understanding the coverage of water supply, water area is
balanced. In addition, the company is looking for water resource-related information
may be lost by calculating user registration and history of water use. However, the
important task is to assign the user on district meter area to calculate the correct
NRW. In GIS also use spatial analysis to analyze the situation on fixed plumbing
leaks, age, and the materials. Besides, this software can also identify leaking pipes,
pipe age and pipe material.
In the work of water loss reduction, pressures are monitored to avoid leakage and
damage to the pipe. Others, poor quality of fittings, material, workmanship, soil
characteristic and traffic loading also causes of leakage. Therefore, these companies
require elevation of the study area in which play an important role in the hydraulic
model to verify the tank.

tangki.
