Ethics Preliminary Examination

This document discusses three topics related to ethics: 1. How one's defining life moments can change their personality and outlook, as experiencing heartbreak made the author more empathetic but also more easily angered. 2. Whether today's youth can still be relied on as the hope of the country if they lack moral character. While some argue society should not solely blame youth, others have faith that today's youth will help progress the country. 3. How two moral characters, pakikisama (harmonious ties) and hospitality, shape Filipino culture and can have both benefits of teamwork and issues if taken advantage of.

ETHICS PRELIMINARY EXAMINATION

1.Recall some of your defining moments in the formation of your moral

character.  Did it change your personality as well as your outlook in life? How?
One of my defining moments in life is my first heartbreak. I’ve gone through a lot of
sufferings during that time and that alters my morality overtime. I become too
empathetic to others and my temper is unstable to manage. I become angry to the
tiniest of things and too sensitive to handle the situation.
I realized our personality are affected by our circumstances or victories in life. Also, I
grasped the more impatient we grow, the harsher we are with ourselves and even with
others. We undervalue the importance of proper timing, and as a result, it becomes one
of our most important life changes. Excessive impatience leads to more errors and
failures.
2. What do you think will happen to our country if our youth will be lacking the
necessary moral ascendency? Can we still rely on them as the hope of our
motherland? Explain your answer.
If the youth ever lacked the morality to stand up for our country, then the country must
be hopeless.  However, the society is not entitled to blame these support group for the
youth become solely responsible of their life decisions once they reach the right age
and if they can decide on their own.  This is the very reason the parents, guardians, or
mentors are held accountable in the formation of the youth in their first few stages in life.
In contrast to the preceding viewpoint, the Filipinos' optimistic outlook placed their faith
in the youth. They feel that the young of today are the youth of Dr. Jose Rizal's dreams.
All that will keep the globe moving forward is modernization. Today’s kids are assisting
the world in gradually rising out of poverty.
3. Discuss 2  moral characters and how it affects our way of life.
Pakikisama prohibits Filipinos from withholding facts or knowledge with the intent of
putting another Filipino in a difficult situation. Pakikisama describe the necessity for
individuals in the Philippines to preserve harmonious interpersonal ties, is an important
aspect of Philippine culture. One of the reasons the Philippines is seen as such a
pleasant country is because of the prevalence of pakikisama. People tend to smile and
participate in lighthearted banter. This can have a positive influence in the workplace
when nice, helpful individuals work together as a team. It can also cause issues.
Filipino hospitality is in our blood; we Filipinos are the most welcome people to
everyone, even strangers, and the negative view about it is that many individuals can
take advantage of it when we're trying to be kind; they're thinking of something evil to
what we're doing.
