B.Establishing a purpose for the lesson Motivation:
(Integrative Approach) How will you show kindeness to others? Elicit from them that being kind to others is important.
Emphasize that kindness, be it simple or complicated, originate from the same humble intention
of helping others. Just like in Mathematics, numbers may come in other forms, like fractions
and decimals but they mean the same.
C. Presenting examples/ instances of the Present the chart below:
new lesson Let the pupils study the illustration below and lead them to find out how fractions and
decimals mean the same number:

Ask: What is the equivalent of 3/10 in decimal form? How do you rename 3/10 to decimal?
3
=3 tenths=0.3
10
Let the pupils consider the number of zeros in the denominator. This tells them the number of
digits after the decimal point. In which case 3/10 can be written as 0.3.

D.Discussing new concepts and Study this other example:

practicing new skills #1
(Collaborative Approach) a) What fractional part of the region is shaded? (7/10)
How will you rename 7/10 to decimal? (0.7)
b) How do you rename 5/100 in decimal form?
Let them consider the number of zeros in the denominator. There are two zeros,
meaning there are 2 digits after the decimal point. So, 5/100 = 0.05
