ME3Recalibrated (ME3Re) is a series of bug fixes, content restorations, and lore corrections for Mass

Effect 3. Edits are in the spirit of the "unofficial patches" for TES games, and efforts will be made to
retain compatibility with other mods. For this reason, ME3Re will not modify LI-specific dialogue
(BackOff), content related to Thane (ThaneMOD), the galaxy map (EGM), or late end game/epilogue files
(various ending mods).

ME3Re is a group project with contributions by several mod authors. Version 2.0 is a major update that
doubles the size of the mod. It includes new content for the following features:

 Joker Teeth Fix – Optional texture (vanilla resolution) that fixes Joker’s black teeth and lack of
tongue. (AVPen)
 Echo Shard Fix – Fix for the VFX associated with Javik’s echo shard when Leviathan and From
Ashes DLCs are installed simultaneously. (Kinkojiro)
 Bailey NPC Redux – ME2-centric makeover that affects all ME3 content for Bailey including
Citadel DLC. This redux is the best yet and required custom textures. (Giftfish, Ottemis)
 Restored Zaeed Conversation – Restores unused dialogue for Zaeed on the Citadel, and turns
the conversation into a cutscene rather than an ambient. (SirCxyrtyx)
 Hackett on Kahje Fix – Fix for Hackett’s convo path regarding the hanar and drell. Now triggers
if Hanar Diplomat is incomplete OR if Kahje was saved. (Giftfish)
 Garrus on Bridge Fix – Fix for Garrus’s location when on the Bridge with Joker. Base game and
DLC versions. (Kinkojiro)
 Kirrahe STG GAW Fix – There was a bug in the previous version of this fix that could lead to a
crash. The assets now apply differently. Kirrahe alive = GAW Kirrahe & STG. Kirrahe dead = only
STG. (Kinkojiro)
 Horsehead Nebula & Kahje Lore Fixes – Fixes ANN broadcast content about Reaper capital
ships, Noveria, Horsehead Nebula, Kahje, Exodus cluster, and salarians that conflicts with ME3
timeline, potential quest outcomes, planet descriptions, and lore established in all three games.
This applies to news broadcasts on the Citadel and conversation content with Allers on the
Normandy. (Giftfish)
 Citadel: Hanar Diplomat Quest Fixes – Bau’s email no longer identifies him as STG, as there’s
no other evidence in game for this. Terminal navpoints now only display if Shepard enables
them via the spectre terminal. Navpoint for the Embassy terminal will now properly inactivate
post-interaction. Bau and Kasumi’s dialogue are both be heard during the mission. Kasumi will
only comment on Jacob if Shepard doesn’t have romance history, as in ME2. Kasumi will ask
about EDI/Joker even if Garrus is alive. Assorted subtitle fixes. Completion glitch addressed by
not allowing Shepard to leave the Citadel until the quest is completed. (Giftfish)
 New Prologue Escape Bugfix – James and FemShep were missing a line of audio for non-
BackOff users. This has been added. (Giftfish)

 Accurate C-Sec Uniforms – Bailey’s appearance overhaul necessitated that all C-Sec officers
have their proper uniforms restored. This change affects several files and we’ve tried to catch
incorrect uniforms, but there may be some files we’ve missed. If so, just leave us a quick
comment on Nexus or ME3Explorer (please don’t report it as a bug).(Giftfish)
 Coup StandOff Fixes – This encounter and wrap up with Bailey/Council has had a lot of
cleaning up. New and smoothed gestures, fixed NPC locations, improved camera shots and fixes
for bugged shots, and more. Plus, Bailey redux and proper C-Sec uniforms. (Giftfish)
 Coup Intro Cutscene – More fixes for this conversation in the next release. For now, this fix
removes Shepard’s equipped weapons, as the commander is in casual clothing during as the
Normandy arrives at the Citadel. (Giftfish)

INSTALLATION
ME3Re is a DLC mod, which makes installation simple. Keep in mind a couple details before installing:

 ME3Re is for English localizations, only.

 ME3Re requires use of Warrantyvoider's DLL Patcher for ME3 DLC.
 Current ME3Re users should start at Step 1A.
 New ME3Re users should start at Step 1B.

STEP 1A | Uninstall
If you currently have ME3Re installed, delete the DLC_CON_ME3RE folder located at ..\Origin
Games\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC. Important: Do NOT delete the contents inside this folder and leave
the folder in place. Delete the entire folder. Proceed to Step 2.

STEP 1B | DLC Patcher

Warrantyvoider's DLL Patcher for ME3 DLC has been included for ease of installation, but many users
may not need it. If you are already using DLC mods, then you already have the patcher and can skip to
Step 2 below. If you are not using any other DLC mods, then:

 Back up your vanilla binkw32.dll inside ..\Origin Games\Mass Effect\Binaries\Win32 by

appending a .bup extension. (Make sure you have Windows file extensions visible. If they aren’t,
search the web to find out how to do this.)
 Copy and paste the two DLL files from the DLC Patcher folder in your ME3Re download into the
same directory.

STEP 2 | Install ME3Re

Copy the DLC_MOD_ME3RE folder from your download and paste it into your ME3 DLC directory. This
is located at ..\Origin Games\Mass Effect 3\BIOGame\DLC.

STEP 3 | Install Compatibility and Optional Files
All users will not need compatibility files. It depends on which components of ME3Re you use, and
which BioWare DLC and DLC mods you have installed.
All files discussed in this section are stored inside separate and logically-named folders in your ME3Re
download. To install, copy the files from these folders (not the folders themselves) into the
..\DLC_CON_ME3RE\CookedPCConsole folder in your ME3 DLC directory (see #2 above).

A. Optional_KellyRedux. See the enclosed screenshot. This optional feature comes in two flavors:
regular and JAM-compatible. Important: When using the JAM version, place the file in JAM’s
CookedPCConsole, not ME3Re’s.
B. Base Game Galaxy Map. If you don’t have Citadel, Leviathan, OR Omega, you should use the
file located inside "Use if No CitOmgLevDLC". This is not optional; it fixes bugs.
C. BioWare DLC. If you have any of the following: N7 Collector’s Edition, From Ashes, Leviathan,
and/or Citadel DLCs, use the files contained in those specified folders.

The Optional_JokerTeethFix is supplied as a TPF/raw DDS and fixes Joker’s black teeth and tongue. It’s
vanilla resolution and can be used with Texmod or ME3Explorer. To use with the toolset, consult the
ME3Explorer wiki. To use with Texmod, read this tumblr post. We cannot be of further assistance.

STEP 4 | AutoTOC
When finished copying files, use the Generate all TOCs feature of AutoTOC. ME3Re will not work
properly without completing this step. Not sure how to use AutoTOC? Read here. Haven't used
ME3Explorer before? Download here.

COMPATIBILITY
ME3Re is compatible with any mod that doesn't change the same file. Other DLC mods may override
ME3Re’s files if they have higher "mount priority".

So far, ME3Re is quite modular. Individual edits can be removed by deleting certain files from the mod.
For information about files and their contents, see the ME3Recalibrated Resource Spreadsheet.

ME3Re v2.0 includes SirCxyrtyx's Restored Zaeed Conversation. Having both installed won't cause any
problems, but the latter will override changes contained in ME3Re’s versions of the files.

PERMISSIONS
ME3Re may not be may not be reused, converted, modified, updated, patched, redistributed
(uploaded), or monetized without our prior consent. To be clear, you may play your game with this
mod. If you wish to modify any contents yourself — to be used by you alone — this is your right.
Anything else requires our permission.
