Comparison Between Slag Powder And Fly Ash
Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS)
Obtained by quenching iron slag (a by product of iron and steel-making) from a blast furnaces in water or stem, to
produce a glassy, granular product that is then dried and ground into a fine powder.
Fly Ash
Fly ash is a byproduct from burning pulverized coal in electric power generating plants.

Refined
❖ The slag powder has similar Chemical composition to OPC Cement and is produced with high Blaine and the best fineness through high efficiency classification.
❖ Thus Slag Powder can be used as the substitute of OPC Cement while Fly Ash can be used only for additional sub-raw material.
❖ The Slag Powder is very much suitable for the weather condition of Myanmar.
❖ The Slag Powder can reduce CO2 emission and it is good for environment.
❖ The Slag Powder can highly resist the sulfate attack and alkali-silica reaction so that it helps the durability of the structure for its long lasting. And it can highly reduce
the hydration heat especially for Mass concrete. 5
