Bukit Kelam is a boulder carried by a magician named Bujang Beji from the Kapuas
Hulu area to stem the Melawi River. The goddess in heaven laughed at him, so Bujang Beji was
angry and his stone rope made of grass broke. The stone then fell in a valley called Jetak. Bujang
Beji tried to lift the stone back, but the stone was already attached and could not be lifted again.
In addition to being associated with the legend, the existence of Bukit Kelam is also rumored to
be the location of the fall of a large meteor millions of years ago. Although the story is shrouded
in mystery, there are still many tourists who come to camp in the midst of the charming natural
panorama of Bukit Kelam. It was done because he was jealous of another magician named
Temenggung Marubai. Temenggung Marubai controlled the Melawi River, while Bujang Beji
controlled the Kapuas River. It's good for catching fish, but he always catches a lot of
Temenggung Marubai, he always keeps the small fish alive and catches them when they are big.
Bujang Beji's jealousy of the Temenggung Marubai fish that prompted him to catch all fish in the
Kapuas River, without which the small fish or the big fish. As a result, there are fewer fish in the
area. Therefore, he intends to cover the flow of the Melawi River with a large rock in the upper
reaches of the Melawi River.

Have you ever heard of kelam hill? Kelam hill is the largest monolith rock in the world in
Sintang, West Kalimantan, Indonesia. Kelam hill is located in the Kelam Permai sub-district,
Sintang district, West Kalimantan. Kelam hill is the largest monolith rock with a height of 1,002
meters above sea level. In the area around Kelam hills, various endemic plants grow, one of
which is the semar bag. Semar bag is a carnivorous plant which is a plant that eats insects and
small animals. This plant is a protected plant according to Law no. 5 of 1990 concerning the
conservation of living natural resources and their ecosystems and government regulation no. 7 of
1999 concerning protected plant and animal species. In addition to the semar bag, Bukit Kelam is
also a home for black orchids, bears, sunbirds, pangolins, and swallows. The Kelam hill has
interesting biodiversity and natural beauty, so the government has finally developed Kelam hill
as a tourist attraction. The surrounding community knows the Kelam hill as the bukit raya. The
kelam hill is flanked by two major rivers, namely the Kapuas River and the Melawi River. The
Kapusa River is known as the longest river in West Kalimantan as well as the longest river in
Indonesia.
In 2012 an ancient tomb erected by ancestors was used as a tourist attraction, which the
Dayaks often call stone graves. This grave has long been established, even since the ancestors
still existed. However, the local government was only able to make it a tourist attraction in 2012
because the government was having difficulty reaching remote areas at that time. This ancient
burial area is located right on the mainland, two meters above the river level. Wooden stairs the
size of a footrest can be a way to go up to the place. The stone grave has an area of 30x30 meters
and is accompanied by a welcoming gate carved by the Dayak people. This stone grave consists
of five graves, three of which are lined up while the two are about ten meters apart from the
others. And the structure of the grave is the same. The fact that in this grave no one knows whose
body has been put into the grave. The Dayak people have lived in the area for about 400 years
ago. These archaeological remains are the most valuable relics of the island of Borneo.
It is said that this stone grave is very mysterious because it looks clear. When we are
there, we will feel a different air starting from the changing weather after a few minutes at the
location. There is a tradition that is often carried out by residents there to bury the body, where
the corpse will be placed in a container, it can be in the form of jars and jars. Then the container
will be placed some distance from the village. This tradition was carried out by ancient ancestors
because they still believed in mystical things that were different from today. This tradition has
existed for four centuries and is carried out regularly by the ancestors when someone has died.
There is a surprising fact that I know that, when the gravestone is sounded in the sense of being
hit with any object, the weather will immediately change very quickly and cause heavy rain
along with strong winds. I got this information from the experience of someone who once tried
to ring the grave and caused heavy rain and strong winds. Believe it or not, this phenomenon is
true. If you are interested in visiting the stone grave tour, the location is in the Kabupaten
Malinau, Kecamatan Bahau Hulu, Long Berini Village, Sungai Long Polong.

The Tradition of the peta Kapanca in the Mbojo
The peta Kapanca is one of the rituals usually carried out by the bride-to-be on the night before
the marriage contract takes place, taking place at the prospective bride's residence. The
philosophy of this mystical ritual consists of two words consisting of peta meaning paste and
Kapanca meaning finely ground henna leaves. In the peta Kapanca ceremony, the bride will be
dressed in Bima's traditional clothes and seated among the guests present. The Peta Kapanca
ceremony is an event of crushing red henna or henna leaves on the nails of the bride which is
carried out alternately by the women present at the event. This is done as a sign that the bride-to-
be will get married the next day. In addition, this ceremony also gives a message to the
audience, especially women. For a mother, this ceremony is a hope that her daughter can follow
in the footsteps of the bride and groom, while the girls can use this ceremony as an example to
quickly end the single period. The Peta Kapanca ceremony begins with a sangongo event, which
is a steam bath with various flowers and spices or a bath. flower which is then followed by a
splash event called "boho oi mbaru". In the boho oi mbaru procession, the woman has been
made aware that this woman will soon have a marriage contract and will release her single life.
After that, a "cafi ra hambu maru kai" event is held or cleans, arranges, and makes up the bride's
room. Next, enter the main event, namely crushing the henna leaves on the nails of the
prospective bride while chanting dzikir Kapanca which aims to express gratitude to Allah SWT
and hopes that the prospective bride and groom can build a sakinah, Mawardah, and warahmah
family. The event ended with "rawa mbojo" (Bima song) , which is a traditional song that
contains advice for the bride and groom while accompanied by music until the morning. In this
case, it is illustrated that there is a flower arrangement of eggs which in time will be intended for
mothers who still have daughters, namely the eggs to be eaten by their daughters while the
flower arrangements are used as decorations in the daughter's room. That is why this Kapanca
ceremony is the dream of mothers in the Bima. They expect their daughters to go through the
same ceremony that marks the happy day. The intent and purpose of the bride being smeared
with henna leaves on the toenails, hands and palms of the bride was a sign of themselves who
had been spoiled by pampering their nails and lazing around . From this moment on, these
smooth hands and feet are littered with henna leaves, this tells us all of our children / our
younger siblings are starting to work hard and diligently to achieve a happy and prosperous
household, mawaddah, warahmah, the world and the hereafter. Until now, the tradition of the
Kapanca Map is still closely embedded in the life of then bima in general, the peta Kapanca will
be maintained as a cultural heritage that continues to be preserved
