Daily Lesson Plan For Year 5 KBSR Science

The document outlines a daily lesson plan for a Year 5 science class where students will investigate how different liquids flow at different rates. Through a worksheet activity and experiment, students will compare how quickly detergent, juice, water, and oil flow through a straw to understand that some liquids flow faster than others due to their properties. The lesson incorporates scientific process skills like observing, measuring, and comparing liquids.

Teacher show 2 pink liquid in same types of bottle Teacher ask question

Teaching technique SPS Demonstration

Teacher: What can you see from the bottle that Material: i. ii. Pink shower gel Dilute sirap ros teacher have? Pupils : pink liquid Teacher: do you think these liquid are same? (some might answer no, some might answer yes) Teacher: now teacher will squeeze the bottle, let see how the liquid flow out of bottle. What can you see?

- observation - compare and contrasting

steps 1 (15 minute)

i.

Different types of liquid have different rates of flow

1) Teacher distribute the worksheet 2) Teacher discuss with student to complete the worksheet

teaching stratergies cooperative learning

ii. Testing different types of liquid Material: i. ii. iii. iv. Detergent (soap) Juice Plain water oil

3) Teacher asks group representative to in front to take SPS the different liquid and apparatus. 4) Pupils that chosen as representative come out to take the apparatus and the different liquid for their group. 5) Pupils make experiment and test the flow of liquid by cast the liquid into the straw that already have the measurement of length. 6) Pupils tilt the straw so that the liquid flow and after 5 seconds student straighten the straw and read the reading of measurement where the liquid reach. 7) Pupils write the measurement on worksheet given experimenting observing measuring and using number

step 2 ( 7 minute)

i.

discuss the result of an experiment

1. teacher post question and pupils answer the question Teacher: which liquid flow fastest? Pupils: plain water and juice Teacher: which liquid flow slowest? Pupils: the detergent (soap) Teacher: why are the detergents (soap) flows slowest and water flow fastest? Pupils : the detergent is concentrate while the liquid are diluted Teacher: what can you say from the experiment? Pupils: some liquid flow faster than another
