PLANNING Training Session

1. What were the questions you asked yourself when you started to write the session plan?
The questions that I asked when I wrote my session plan were the following: Who are my target group?
What are the training needs of my learners? What would be the learning outcomes? What are the
resources to be used? What would be the specific time for them to perform? And what are their
characteristics, behavior and attitude so that I can individualize based on their ability level.

2. Where did you get the answers to your questions?


All the questions that I asked were answered from training regulations TR, Competency Based
Curriculum CBC, Competency Standards CS and Training Needs Analysis TNA.

3. Describe the components of your session plan.


These were the components of my session plan: Sector- Industry. This qualifications has 3
competencies, the basic, common and core. For the core competencies, there are 3 clustered
competencies such as Coc1, coc2 and coc3. The Qualification is Technical Drafting NCII, Learning
Activities Unit of Competency: Prepare Computer Aided Drawings. Assessment: written, oral and
demonstration. Learning Outcomes: Layout and produce Computer Aided Drawings and details.

4. What factors did you consider when you selected your training methods?
These are the factors to consider in selecting training methods: Content, Target Audience, Objective,
Time, Cost, and Resources.

5. How did you organize your learning events?


The learning events were based on Gagne Theory which is from simple to complex.

6. What assessment method did you choose for that particular session plan?
Do you think you made a good choice? Explain.
To assess the underpinning knowledge of my trainees:
a. Demonstration-underpinning skills
b. Written Test-underpinning knowledge
c. Portfolio-underpinning skills
d. Interview-underpinning knowledge

7. When preparing the assessment how did you consider validity & cost effectiveness?
The validity plus cost effectiveness:
Validity it should be Relevant to CS; Dimensions of Competency and Rules of Evidence; Cost Effective if
there was a proper Utilization of Tools and Materials.

8. Why was it is necessary to prepare a table of specifications when you prepare your written test?
The purpose of Table of Specifications is to ensure that: Well- distribution of items and Learning
outcomes is scoped in written exams.

9. Describe at least two adult learning principles that is always in your mind when you are preparing
a session plan.
The adult learning principles are ready to learn in many things because they are already matured and
based on experience because most of the learners are already working and so they were able to relate
everything.
FACILITATING Learning Session

1. Enumerate the activities you did before the arrival of your students.
Before the arrival of my students I will prepare and set up learning areas stations (9 CBT Stations), set
up the projector / PC or laptop, prepare the progress chart and achievement chart as monitoring tools,
the supplies and materials / resources should be complete, the practical work area to be simulated
must be prepared; the Attendance Sheet should be prepared; the Data gathering tools should be
prepared to determine the characteristics of the trainees, the self -assessment guide should be
prepared also - to assess the current competency of the trainees.

2. Enumerate the events that happened in this particular session. Make your list as a series of
teacher and student activities. Do not elaborate on the content of the lesson. Based on these events
was your lesson teacher centered or student centered? Provide a reason for your answer.
I will conduct a CBT Orientation to discuss the following (at least 3 CBT, 2 Roles); (Definition of CBT, 10
Principles of CBT, Roles of CBT Trainer, Trainees, Qualification overview, Competency Based Learning
Materials (CBLM) - consists of info sheet, task sheet, job sheet, performance criteria checklist). I will
also conduct Pre-Test to assess the underlying knowledge of my learners and I will also conduct a
Facility Tour with all the 9 CBT areas.

3. Evaluate your choice of learning material. State whether you like to change it or not to change it
the next time you facilitate the same lesson. Provide a reason for your action.
My learning materials are appropriate with my students and I can change based on the learning needs
of my students.

4. Describe the type of questions you asked in this particular session. Why was it necessary to ask
these questions?
These are the questions that I might ask; What are the safety precautions, Contingency Questions,
Rules and Regulations, Reflection or Extension questions because it measures the underpinning
knowledge and attitude of my students.

5. How did you ensure participation from your students?


By giving them individual modules, task sheets and individual job sheets and let them evaluate their
performances through performance criteria checklist.

6. What document do you use to help you manage the class activities? Describe the use of this
document. Would you recommend other types of document that can be used to manage the class?
I will make sure to record assessment result in accordance to the approved monitoring tools such as
achievement chart and progress chart as well as the training activity matrix, that serves as the training
guide throughout the training.

7. Describe an adult learning principle you always have in mind when you are facilitating a session.

The Adult learners learned by comparing the past experience from present experience. It provides
certain activities that will share their experiences.- Adult learners are ready to learn - because they all
matured enough.

8. What assessment tools did you use in this particular session? Is there a need to make
improvement on the tools? Why or why not? (1)
I will also discuss the assessment methodologies applicable in his/her conduct of institutional
assessment appropriate to the learning outcome such as: written test, demonstration & oral
questioning.

9. How did you provide the feedback to your students? Is there a need to make improvement on
your method? Why or why not?
I will use appropriate feedback mechanism to inform learner of his/her progress through the following:
face to face, based upon observable behavior, state first the strong points of the trainees then the
weak points then the strong points again or state the positive followed w/ the areas for improvement
then positive, lastly, descriptive of specific behavior must be emphasized.

10. Did you ask your students to evaluate the session? What did you learn from their evaluation
Yes, I will use evaluation instrument specific recommendations for improvements, in order to make
adjustments on the - to know the session plan, teacher's reflection, training methods or presentation,
time or nominal period and resources.

SUPERVISE Work Based Learning

1. How will you identify and establish relationship with potential participating companies?
These are the preliminary activities that I am going to do, first is to establish or to tie-up with other
companies, partnerships with other companies, linkages, alliances, coordination with participating
companies and benchmarking. Once done, I will provide a MOA, MOU to the companies and signed
whatever agreement being discussed by both parties.

2. Will you write a training plan for your students? Why?


Yes, this is considered as our guide during the conduct of immersion with our learners, that includes
learning outcome, the training task and assessment method, time frame and the responsible persons in
coordination with the participating companies.

3. Before you send your students to the participating company, what preparatory activities should
you do? Why?
I will conduct an Orientation/ briefing about the policies and procedures as well as the Do's and Don'ts.
I will monitor the performance by checking the trainee's record book, trainee's diary/ journal, etc.

4. How will you monitor the performance of the students? Why is this needed? When do you provide
the feedback to the students?
I will have a schedule a regular visit/ inspection and check trainee's performance/safety, I will request
feedback from trainees at the same time talk to supervisor/discuss trainees' performance, identifies
risks and hazards, I will gather feedbacks and make an appointment meeting with the supervisor to
check the performance of my learners.

5. If the participating company will make an unfavorable remark about the performance of the
students what will you do?
If my learners commit a mistake, I will ask for a written report from the company, makes further
investigation based on the written report; provides feedback to trainees based on the written report;
with action to verify the truthfulness of the remarks/ report, provide counseling and provide resolution
to the issue.

6. How will you evaluate the effectiveness of the work based learning? Why is there a need to
perform such evaluation?
I will use Program Evaluation Tool- to be accomplished by trainees, the Evaluation for trainees; I will
read trainee’s journal/ TRB - performance of the students as well the monitoring reports. Interpreted
at the forms/ reports gathered from the company and students compare with the training plan such as
Feedback and Recommendations. I will also interpret all the forms/ reports gathered from the
company and students compare with the training plan. And I will get recommendations based on the
results of the interpretations.

MAINTAINING Training Facilities


1. Sketch the lay-out of your classroom/laboratory/ workshop

2. Enumerate the training equipment and machines that are in your classroom/ laboratory/
workshop. If there are too many, write it as a set.
These are some of the tools and equipment, Glass, Plates, Wok, Burner, Oven, Cutleries, blender, slicer,
chopping boards, spoon, knife, casserole, stock pot.

3. Enumerate the major maintenance and housekeeping activities performed by all personnel
involved in the maintenance of your classroom/laboratory/workshop. What improvement will you
recommend? Why?
The Inventory of Equipment, tools and supplies materials are always monitored as well as the
maintenance activities: resources and schedules of housekeeping activities; the maintenance activities
are being monitored.

All the documents are signed especially the maintenance schedule and inspection checklist. All the
Captured/ manufacturer's specs in the maintenance schedule are being filed. The Maintenance
schedule and checklist are always monitored. The Workshop/ store room are properly secured and also
the methods of securing Workshop/ store room are practiced.

4. What procedure do you follow to request for the purchase of additional tools, equipment and
machines for your classroom/ laboratory/workshop? What improvement would you recommend for
this procedure?
In case of purchasing a new item, I will have to file on the purchase request form and let it signed by
the superior or head.

5. What is the SOP of your institution when equipment is found to be out of order? Would you
recommend an improvement to this procedure? Why or why not?
It is also important to prepare equipment inspection/ breakdown report to maintain its functionality.
The Breakdown report, request for assistance, request for repair; Request for assistance for faults or
repair outside of area of competence. I will make also a Letter request for assistance.

6. Describe your institutions waste disposal system. If none, what can you recommend?
In our Waste management system/ segregation, there are separate bins for garbage's, a regular
checking of waste and signatures of personnel in charge are practiced. There are also Maintenance
record, Equipment breakdown report and Maintenance / job requests.

7. Describe your institutions recording and documentation of equipment/ machine maintenance and
repair. If none what can you recommend?
In the process in safe keeping documents, all are secured and arrange accordingly. So therefore, the
proper Preventive maintenance systems are observed.

CONDUCTING COMPETENCY ASSESSMENT


Your task is to prepare a written report on conducting Competency Assessment in your area of
expertise. Use the following statements questions as your guide in preparing your report. Provide a

7. During interview or oral questioning when the candidates answer is wrong do you provide the
correct answer immediately? (4)
8. What will be the basis of your assessment decision? If you are in doubt what will you do? (4)
9. How will you provide the feedback? In case that the candidate do not agree with your decision what
will you do? (4)
