Group 3 presented on the story of Mulan in three ways - through a poster, PowerPoint presentation, and live roleplay. The PowerPoint discussed the history and origins of the Mulan story from ancient China and included a copy of the original Ballad of Mulan. It provided context on the plot where Mulan disguises herself as a man to serve in the army in place of her ill father. The group then introduced the characters who would portray them in the upcoming live performance of key events from Mulan's journey.

INTRODUCTION:

M: Good afternoon fellow classmates!

D: Good afternoon Ma'am Bosi!
B: We are Group 3.

D: What a pleasant day for all of us! Our presentation will be all about the Story

"Mulan". A folk story, that has been passed down for generations in the country

of China.

M: As instructed, we will be presenting our Asian-related topic in 3 different

ways.

D: These ways are; Paper Based, Digital, and Live based.

For our Paper Based Material, we used a poster to present a visual

representation to draw the audience's attention. We also used a PowerPoint

Presentation to present a more deep overview of our topic.

M: And lastly, for our live-based performance, the other members will be

roleplaying the thrilling journey of Mulan.

D: So, without further delay, let us all hear from Rhian Sulieta
M: about the outstanding and breathtaking poster she made about our topic;
B: Mulan.

(Rhian speaks)

(AFTER PAPER BASED)

D: To understand the story better, our group will present the story digitally by

using a PowerPoint Presentation. Let's start! (Click all)

Our presentation is entitled "All about Mulan".
M: (Click on the next slide and click again) First, let us have a brief overview and

history of the story. (Click) (Reads)

"Mulan is a fictional folk heroine from the Northern and Southern dynasties era (4th

to 6th century AD) of Chinese history. The story of the original Mulan is quite

different from that of the Disney animated movie from 1998 and the recent live-

action adaptation. The Ballad of Mulan, a collection of stories from the 12th century,

contains the earliest print copy of the tale that is still in existence.
Due to references to the Northern Wei dynasty, which ruled from the fourth

through the early sixth centuries, it is believed that this short poem was first

written as a folk story in the fourth or fifth century."

D: (Click 3x) This is a copy of the original copy of Ballad of Mulan, in which the story

of Mulan originated. (Click to next slide) (Reads)

"The Ballad of Mulan is the oldest known version of Mulan’s story. Most likely

composed during the era of Northern Wei (around 400 AD), this one poem ended up

inspiring countless retellings for centuries to come.

The Balad most likely began as an oral tradition and was passed down for over a

century until it was finally preserved in written form during the Tang dynasty. But

as an anonymous and undated work, very little can be said about it with certainty."

M: What is the plot of Mulan?
Fearful that her ailing father will be drafted into the Chinese military, Mulan takes

his spot -- though, as a girl living under a patriarchal regime, she is technically

unqualified to serve. She cleverly impersonates a man and goes off to train with

fellow recruits. Accompanied by her dragon, Mushu, she uses her smarts to help

ward off a Hun invasion." ( Click to next slide)

D: Before we finish off our digital presentation, we will first introduce to you the

characters and who will portray them in our live-based performance

M: that will be seen right after this presentation.
(Read the following short slides)
D: Those are the characters you will see in our live-based performance.
M: And now that we've settled that, (Click to the next slide)
B: Let's Start!
(LIVE BASED PERFORMANCE STARTS)

OUTRODUCTION:
D: That will be the end of our presentation, We hoped that you enjoyed

what we prepared. Our presentation showed not only the lesson of our

module; multimodal texts,

M: but also a moral lesson which is to never underestimate nor see a

person at a lower level because of their gender.

D: Gender should never be a reason for people to not try other things

they're interested in because of toxic roles and stereotypes.

M: We hope you learned something important through our presentation.
B: Thank you all for tuning in, listening, and watching! :D
Group 3 is now signing off and wishing you a terrific day

the end.
