CONDITIONALS

First Conditional
-If + present simple  future will / modal + infinitive
 possible situations/conditions in the future: If you explain the situation, he’ll
understand.
 Promises: If you behave, you may have some presents for Christmas.
 Offers: If you are in a hurry, I’ll give you a lift.
 threats / warnings: If you don’t study, I’ll tell your parents.
Second Conditional
-If + past simple  would / could + infinitive
 Hypothetical/Imaginary or improbable situations: If you lost your iPhone, what would
you do? If I was as rich as Bill Gates, I wouldn’t work.
 Advice: If I were you, I wouldn’t spend so much money on clothes.

Third Conditional
-If + past perfect would / could/ might+ have + past participle
 past conditions that cannot be fulfilled: If more countries had invested on space
exploration, we would have found much more about it.
