àà To safeguard the closing movement, a light curtain with a detection field covering the entire door width on
the floor and monitoring the area up to a height of at least 2,000 mm above the ground (where the main clos-
ing edge meets the opposite closing edge) must be mounted both inside and outside as per DIN 18650.
àà The distance between the detection fields may not be greater than 200 mm.
àà If only one light curtain is used, the detection field must be located on the floor as close to the door leaf as
possible.

Commissioning and service Automatic sliding doors
Danger
Danger of death from electric shock!
XX Interrupt power supply.
XX Reset controller to the factory setting with cp; the display programme switch displays le.
XX Press the service button and a U at the same time (see Service menu, Operation of DPS); the production test
begins:
àà p1 Lock unlocked.
àà p3 Motor turns approx. 20 cm in one direction and then approx. 20 cm in the other direction.
àà p2 Lock locked.
àà p 6 Check for whether or not a battery is connected.
àà a 0 Battery was not detected.
àà a1 Battery was detected.
àà If a battery is connected, it must be detected. Only the presence of the battery is determined, not whether it is
sufficiently charged.
àà If a fault occurs during the production test, the test is aborted and the fault displayed.
XX Press the button.
XX Start the production test with ST220 via the Service menu under Item "Start production test Yes".
XX Unplug the battery after the production test and leave it unplugged until commissioning.
22.2 Commissioning
Commissioning is carried out in the following steps:
àà Mounting is complete (see mounting instructions of the corresponding sliding door drive).
àà Sensors are correctly configured and aligned. Clear the detection field of the sensors.
àà Electrical installation is complete. No cables are located in the sliding path of the leaves and carriers. All cables
are secured with cable ties.
XX Push leaves completely into the open position from the closed position by hand and back again. It must be
possible to move them freely (displacement force less than 100 N).
XX Align lock. For fully closed leaves, the lock must be easily lockable and unlockable by hand.
28
Automatic sliding doors Commissioning and service
Caution
Danger of injury by opening door leaves during commissioning!
XX Switch off all safety systems.
XX Step out of the sliding path.
XX To commission a sliding door in escape and rescue routes, terminals 1 and 44 of the display programme switch
must be connected or the connected key switch must be actuated.
XX If a sliding door in escape and rescue routes is also to be operated with a reduced opening width, connect
terminals 2 and 6 on controller DCU1-2M. For a sliding door in escape and rescue routes, the reduced opening
width must at least correspond with the required escape route width.
Caution
The leaves accelerate quickly when the leaf mass is being determined!
XX Step out of the sliding path.
àà The door leaves open and close several times. The controller determines the following parameters:
àà l0 Start learning
àà l1 Testing the rotary transducer
àà l3 Opening width, closing position
àà l2 Toothed-belt lock
àà l8 Friction
àà l4 Leaf mass
àà l6 Reduced opening width
àà The leaves stop with l6 .
XX Push leaves into the desired reduced opening width by hand and confirm ( ).
For doors in escape and rescue routes, the reduced opening width must be larger than or the same size as the
required escape and rescue width (construction approval). The controller limits the reduced opening width to at
least 30 percent of the maximum opening width.
àà Automatic acceptance of the current position occurs after 20 sec. only with controller DCU1.
àà l7 End learning
XX Confirm to save the determined values ( ).
àà If an error occurs, learning is cancelled with the el message.
XX Display error with e®, remedy cause and restart learning.
XX Undo the connection between terminals 2 and 6 of the controller once again.
XX Switch to the operating mode.
àà The operating mode a U is switched to automatically after the learning of a brand-new controller.
XX Check the running behaviour of the door and adjust other parameters if necessary.
29
Commissioning and service Automatic sliding doors
XX Switch to Service mode and check whether all connected assembly groups and safety systems were learnt in
menu item D I .
XX Clear O e fault memory.
XX Unplug display programme switch if necessary.
Caution
Danger of injury from moving door leaves!
The door leaves move during commissioning.
XX Move away from the door leaf moving path.
XX If a sliding door in escape and rescue routes is also to be operated with a reduced opening width, connect
terminals 2 and 6 on controller DCU1-2M.
àà For a sliding door in escape and rescue routes, the reduced opening width must correspond to the prescribed
escape route width.
XX Attach the battery at the controller.
XX Switch on 230 V at the transformer.
A brand-new controller displays the unlearnt initialisation function on the ST220 after the power returns,
whereas a controller that has already been in operation shows the last operating mode used before the power
supply was switched off.
XX Configure controller, in particular:
àà Leaf number Number of door leaves
àà Drive type Drive type
àà Electr. lock Dead bolt type
àà KI Contact type and delay of inside contactor
àà SI1, SI2, SI3, SI4 Contact type and function of the safety sensors
XX Close door.
XX Learning of the drive started by selecting "Start learning Yes".
àà The door leaves open and close several times. The controller determines the following parameters:
àà Rotary transducer learning programme Checking the rotary transducer
àà Opening width learning programme Opening width, closing position
àà Dead bolt test learning programme Toothed-belt lock
àà Displacement force learning programme Displacement force/Friction
àà Acceleration learning programme Leaf mass (the leaves accelerate quickly)
àà Red. opening width learning prog.
The leaves stop with the "Red. opening width" learning programme.
XX Push leaves to the desired reduced opening width by hand and confirm ( ) (Automatic acceptance of the
current position after 20 sec. only with DCU1).
For doors in escape and rescue routes, the reduced opening width must be larger than or the same size as the
required escape and rescue width (construction approval). The controller limits the reduced opening width to at
least 30 percent of the maximum opening width.
àà 'Acknowledge learning' learning programme End learning
àà Confirm to save the determined values ( ).
If an error occurs, learning is cancelled with the "Error occurred during learning" message.
XX Display error in menu item "Fault memory - Current errors", remedy cause and restart learning.
XX Undo the connection between terminals 2 and 6 of the controller once again.
XX Switch to the operating mode. The operating mode AU is switched to automatically after learning of a brand-
new controller.
XX Check the running behaviour of the door and adjust other parameters if necessary.
XX In the "Diagnosis" menu item, check whether all connected assembly groups and safety systems have been
configured properly.
XX Clear fault memory.
XX Unplug ST220.
