17) Computer Science-

General Instructions for the Students
Students will do their project in their scheduled class under the supervision of
their teacher. However students may do their research work required to
complete the project at home.

Project Topic: Food for Life- Macronutrients, Minerals and Trace Elements

Project objectives
Students need to create a database using MS Access with a table and
generate a report based on the table content. They need to set the Primary
key and specify appropriate properties to the fields of the Table.

Guidelines about the Project

Create a blank Database with the name “Nutrition”.
Create a Table entitled as “Macronutrients_OR_Macroelements”.
The table will have the following Fields with appropriate data types.
i. Serial_Nutrient_code
ii. Name_of_Macronutrients
iii Functions_Played
iv. Sources
v. RDA [Recommended Daily Allowance for infants, children, men and
women].

Set the Properties for the following fields:-

i. Set the Primary key for the field Serial_Nutrient_code.
ii. Set the Field size for Name_of Macronutrients to be 25.
iii. Set the Field size for the Functions_Played to be 200.
iv. Set the Caption as “Origin_of_the_Macronutrients for the field
Sources.

● Students need to increase the row height of the table to

accommodate the Functions played by each Macronutrient.
● Students can apply a background colour, alternate background colour
and Grid Line colours to the datasheet view of the table.
● Align all the data to the Center and make it Bold.
20

● Generate a report based on the data entered in the Table.

● General Guidelines/ Ground work: Students will gather all the
information pertaining to the topic.
