SUBJECT MATTER -
This painting is based on the court dancer of King Sawant Singhof
Kishangarh named Bani Thani.The was great devotee of Radha and
Krishna.
He gave the name Radha to his court dancer.

Description - This is one of the most well known painting of Rajasthani


art of Kishangarh. Nihalchand's painting Radha of Kishangarh or Bani
Thani which means well turned out.Her faces elongated with high and
sloping forehead, pointed and long nose, well cut lips and pointed chin
her long hair are flowing down from her shoulder to her waste. Long
tapering fingers of a right hand are delicately holding the edge of the
transparent odhani. iIn her left hand there are two Lotus buds of pink and
white colour which she is holding with her delegate fingers. Odhani is
decorated with golden motifs. Her dress and her jewellery reflect the
taste of Rajput royalty. We study this painting as a beauty of Indian art
that we can compare to any beauty of Western art like the great
Monalisa by Leonardo da vinci.
This painting was later introduced as the postal stamp by Indian
government.

COLOUR SCHEME:
The background is painted in deep blue colour she is wearing orange
colour blouse. Maximum use of golden colour is there, in jewellery as
well as her dress. Skin is painted in peach colour. On the whole the
painting is very beautiful.
