Driving Tools
• Philips Screwdriver – This is used to drive screws with cross slot heads
• Stubby Screwdriver - Standard or Philips screwdriver with short shank or blade and a shorted handle
used to turn screws in tight spaces where a standard screwdriver cannot be
used.
• Allen Screwdriver - Its function is to drive screws with hexagonal slot heads
Cutting Tools
3 Types of Pliers
• Combination Pliers - used for gripping, holding, and cutting electrical wires and cables, usually used by
linemen in doing heavy tasks
• Side Cutting Pliers - used for cutting fine, medium, big wires and cables.
• Long Nose Pliers - Used for cutting and holding fine wires, can reach tight spaces or small openings
where other pliers cannot reach, used in making terminal loops of copper wires.
Wire Stripper - used for removing insulation of medium-sized wires ranging from gauge #10 to gauge #16.
Electrician’s Knife - Used by linemen to remove insulation of wire and cables in low and high voltage
transmission lines.
Hacksaw - This tool is used to cut metal conduit and armoured cable.
Pounding Tools
These are tools used in pounding and pulling out nails. They are made of hard steel, wood, plastic, or rubber
3 Types of Hammer
• Claw Hammer
• Mallet
• Ballpeen Hammer
Boring Tools
Portable Electric Drill - A small drilling machine used in making holes on metal sheets and concrete walls
• Convenience Outlet/outlet
• Male plug
• Lamp Holders
• Switch
• Fuse
• Circuit breaker
• Junction Box
• Utility Box
• Flat Cord
• Electrical Wire – Solid and Stranded
• Pipes – Metallic conduit, Corrugated plastic conduit, Non metallic conduit
• Clamps – it stabilizes wires, pipes, cords and wires into fixed positions
• Connectors – Metal and Flexible non-metallic connectors
Rat Tail or Pig Tail – commonly used to join two or more wires inside the junction box
Y-splice - used on small cables because the strands are flexible and can be wrapped in one operation
Wrapped Tap or Tee Joint - Used on large solid conductors where the tap wire is heavily wrapped into the
main wire
Aerial Tap - used as a temporary tap usually done in constructions sites
Knotted Tap - This is used where the tap wire is under heavy tensile stress
Plain Tap Joint - is used where the tap wire is under considerable tensile stress
Cross Joint - The same application is done in plain tap but this tap is a combination of two plain taps placed
side by side with each other
Duplex Cross Joint - Two tap wire turned is turned together
Western Union Short Tie - used to extend the length of wire from one point to another
Western Union Long - Use for outside wiring to extend the length of wire from one end to another
1. REQUISITION SLIP FORM – it is where you write the goods or services you request
2. INVENTORY OF MATERIALS FORM – this is a list of all the available materials in a given place
3. JOB ORDER / WORK ORDER FORM – it is where you write the kind of job or services that you want
to have
4 .EQUIPMENT BORROWERS FORM – this is where you write your personal information and your
materials that you want to borrow
