A wonderful way to help those in need


Have you ever wondered how many people need help in these days? As my great
grandmother used to say: “Don't wait for the world to change, you can change the world.”
Well, obviously she was an incredibly smart woman and in this article I would like to explain
you why she was right.
My friends and I, and the other local students organised a charity event in our school last
Thursday. It was called “By playing together, we help others”. All the residents of the town
were invited and a lot of them really came, help and had fun at the same time. As a part of
this event, a talent show was held, in which many extremely talented young people
participated. Every single performance was so original, fabulous and amazing that everyone
was really impressed. When the talent show was over, it was time for the music and our
small student bands. They played an amazing rock, pop and even country music and they
sounded as they were real professionals! All the time volunteers collected money into cans.
Also the cafeteria was there and students were selling delicious cakes, biscuits and lots of
foreign food like Spanish pasta or even prawns and seafood! It was so delicious that almost
everyone (including me) took it home! All for a small donation to the needy. Isn't it
beautiful?
This event was such an incredibly wonderful idea that I hope it would take place next year
and every year after that! Helping people is a fantastic feeling when you know what you are
doing can really make others smile! In the coming years we may expand the scope of our
event, for example invite important, famous people. We can add new attractions such as a
fun corner for kids or auctions and much more!
To sum up, helping can definitely be combined with great fun and amazing food! For us,
people, helping others should be an everyday thing, just see how simple it is, but can
everyone do that? Do you find it also so easy?
