settling payment (tuition fee) further instructions on documentation (if needed) the date when the courses start the date before which the applicants must arrive at ELTE University accommodation possibilities general information on Budapest and Hungary When and how do I have to obtain a student visa? All applicants should start inquiries about obtaining a student visa at the nearest Hungarian Embassy as soon as they receive the Letter of Acceptance. To find out where the nearest embassy is located, please visit the website of the Hungarian Government at: http://www.kulugyminiszterium.hu/kum/en/bal/missions/missions_abroad. In case there is no Hungarian Embassy in your country, make a written inquiry for your student visa at the Consular Section of the nearest diplomatic mission. Set an appointment well in advance (at least two weeks earlier) with the Consul of the Embassy, because you will have to submit your student visa application in person (only during the consular office hours). Do not start organising your student visa before you have received an official letter from the university that you have been accepted. Make sure that your passport is valid for a period of minimum six months when you submit your application for the student visa. We advise you to take along with you to the Embassy a Financial Bank Statement of EUR 1500 and the estimated amount that can cover the expenses of your tuition fee, travel, health insurance and the living costs in Hungary for 6-12 months. The tuition fee (a total of EUR 1500, consisting of EUR 750 for the Autumn Semester and EUR 750 for the Spring Semester) should only be transferred to the University if the Consul reconfirms that you are eligible and will be granted a student visa to study in Hungary. Once written confirmation has been sent to you by the Embassy, make the international money transfer of EUR 1500 in your bank. The original copy of the financial transaction, authenticated by the bank personnel (stamped and duly signed), must be presented to the Consul. The tuition fee can also be transferred by your next of kin (parent, guardian, family member, etc.) or any authorized person (authorization must be given to him or her in writing). Specify in the details of payment or narrative section of the Outgoing Foreign Currency Payment Order document your full name, the program you will be attending, and a special code (9201/04).
For example: Mr George Sample BA in English Studies 9201/04 What do I have to do after my arrival in Hungary?
