LP 9 Addition of Complex Fractions - 092328

The document is a lesson plan for a math class on adding complex fractions. It outlines 3 learning objectives which are to understand finding the lowest common denominator (LCD) of fractions, simplifying numerators and denominators separately, and using the LCD method to simplify complex fractions. The lesson plan details motivating students, presenting problems and solutions, generalizing the topic, applying through example problems, and evaluating learning through a group quiz and assigning additional practice problems.

A Lesson Plan in Math 10

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of this learning session, the students should be able to:
1. demonstrate an understanding of how to find the LCD for a
group of fractions
2. learn how to abridge a complex fraction by simplifying the
numerator and denominator separately
3. demonstrate how to simplify a complex fraction using the
LCD method
II. SUBJECT MATTER

III. PROCEDURES/
STRATEGIES
A. Motivation The teacher will show a set of numbers and the students will individually
choose two numbers and explain it why did they chose the numbers.
Subsequently, the teacher will connect the lesson with the activity performed
by the students.

B. Presentation of the After an interactive motivational activity, the teacher will now present
Lesson problems with solutions. The teacher will then explain step-by-step in
solving complex fractions.
Also, the teacher will demonstrate how to simplify a complex fraction. He
used two methods in the process. Afterwards, the teacher will present more
problems for a better understanding of students.

C. Generalization The teacher will ask the students to define what complex fraction is and
enumerate or cite the steps in solving complex fraction.
D. Application The teacher will give a 10-item problems and the students will answer it in
the board and explain it.

IV. EVALUATION
To assess the learning of the students, the teacher will group them into 4 and
conduct a group quiz bee. They will be given same problems and they are
going to answer it as a group. After which, group leaders will present their
answer in front for scoring.
V. ASSIGNMENT
The teacher will give 5 problems and the students will answer it with a
complete solution, place to be placed on their assignment notebook.
