1. Acceleration
- When a velocity changes along with the time, depending on its speed and
time. A velocity may increase or decrease.
2. Constant Acceleration
- When a velocity changes a speed uniformly, with a constant rate of change
over time. The velocity changes at a constant rate.
3. Falling bodies
- It is when objects fall due to the force of gravity pulling them toward the
center of the earth. The acceleration of objects falling due to gravity is always
at a measure of 9.8 m/s/s.
B. Discuss the ideas of Aristotle and Galileo about freely falling bodies.
- According to Aristotle, the acceleration of speed when an object is falling
depends on its weight. Therefore, the heavier an object is, the fastest it gets
pulled by gravity down to the center of the earth. However, opposite to what
Galileo said, that the mass of an object does not matter when it comes to the
force of gravity. An experiment was made by dropping various objects with
different sizes and weight to test those two theories. At first, it was observed
that Aristotle was right. Yet later on, when you remove the force of gravity in
a situation, Galileo’s theory was correct too when both hammer and a feather
fell at the same speed without the presence of the gravity.
C. What does the negative (-) sign mean of G mean?
- If an object is moving upward, then G will be negative, however if it’s moving
downward, then G will be positive.
D. List down all of the possible formulas in computing for:
1. Acceleration
Vo ∆ v
- a=V − =
t ∆t
Where a is average acceleration
V is final velocity
Vo is Starting velocity or initial velocity
T is Time
A = (v_f – v_i) / Δt ;
A = 2 × (Δd – v_i × Δt) / Δt² ;
A=F/m;
2. Falling bodies
- Vf = g * t
Where g is the acceleration of the gravity, and its value in earth is always at
9.8m/s/s
E. Threw problems with correct solutions

Acceleration = 2.5 m/h. s
- Falling Bodies
Tyson, an expert cliff diver dives from the top of a mountain. If he is able to
fall for 10-s, what will his speed be when he hits the water?
Solution:
Vf = 0 – 9.8 (10)
Vf = -98 m/s
But we were only asked for its speed, therefore we can ignore the negative
sign and proceed with the final answer of, 98-m/s.

Questions:
1. The graph shows uniform acceleration because the velocity changes at a constant rate of the
time. We can see how its speed increases along with the time.
2. Solve using formula of slope of line:
a. 4 seconds to 6 seconds =
3. Yes. There is a uniformly accelerated motion, because of the constant rate change over time
that can be observed based on the graph.
