3.2.4 PDU2000
Figure 3-24 Full-height PDU2000
Reliable
Teamwork control: Enables smart cooling products to work in turn to avoid competitive
operating and supports dynamic cooling capacity allocation and backup of the main
control system.
Dual power supplies: When the active power supply fails, the standby power supply
takes over automatically. When the active power supply is recovered, the power supply is
automatically switched back to the active power supply.
Supports a wide range of input voltages to adapt to poor power grids.
Intelligent differential pressure control (optional): Solves the issue of hot spots due to
insufficient air volume to improve reliability.
Simple
Real-time display: The cooling capacity, air volume, power, and fan speed can be
displayed in real time on the control panel, which helps O&M personnel grasp the
running status of smart cooling products.
Professional diagnosis system: Common alarms and faults can be located intelligently.
The intelligent and highly efficient system lowers skill requirements, simplify O&M, and
reduce O&M time.
The smart cooling product consists of the heat exchanger, chilled water valve, electronically
commutated (EC) fan, air filter, wet film humidifier (optional), and micro differential pressure
sensor (optional).
Heat exchanger
The I-type finned-tube exchanger with a high cooling efficiency adopts the synergy field
principle and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to optimize the flow path design,
which greatly improves the heat exchange efficiency.
Chilled water valve
The chilled water valve, also known as the chilled water proportional integral regulating
valve, features incremental proportional-integral-derivative (PID) control with precise
adjustment and accurate control.
EC fan
− The axial fan comes from a high-end brand and provides high reliability and a long
service life.
− The highly efficient EC fan saves more than 30% of energy than a common fan.
− You can view the power and speed status as well as obtain fault information in real
time over the LCD, allowing you to view the status and locate a fault.
Air filter
The G4 (optional F5) air filter meets requirements for equipment room cleanliness.
Wet film humidifier
− The wet film humidifier has low water quality requirements and high environment
adaptability. In most cases, tap water can be used without special water treatment.
− The wet film humidifier has a simple structure and is easy to remove, clean, and
maintain.
− The wet film humidifier quickly starts and generates huge humidification capacity.
− The wet film humidifier consumes less than over 95% of energy compared with a
traditional electrode humidifier.
Micro differential pressure sensor
Intelligent differential pressure control (optional): Saves energy compared with the
control mode of a normal fan.
Appearance
The controller provides a 7-inch true color touchscreen and man-machine interfaces for query,
setting, monitoring, and maintenance.
The indicator on the panel displays operating status of the smart cooling product. Figure 3-27
shows the position of the indicator. Table 3-10 describes the mapping between indicators,
buzzers, and alarms. If alarms of different severities (critical, major, minor, or warning) are
raised simultaneously, the indicator status corresponds to the alarm with the highest severity
level and the buzzer status corresponds to the unacknowledged alarm with the highest severity
level.
Ports
Functions
Single unit control: Each smart cooling product has an independent control system, LCD,
humidifier, and T/H sensor to ensure its normal operating and high-precision operating.
The controller provides logic control over components in each smart cooling product to
meet the indoor temperature and humidity requirements.
Display and operations: The 7-inch touchscreen of the controller allows you to set
parameters for the device and query the device status.
The smart cooling product has the following four remote functions.
− Telemetry: supply air temperature, return air temperature, supply air humidity,
return air humidity, and working status of the unit
− Teleindication: startup/shutdown, overvoltage/undervoltage, supply water
overtemperature/undertemperature, return air overtemperature/undertemperature,
return air overhumidity/underhumidity, air filter normal/blocked, and fan
normal/fault
− Teleadjust: smart cooling product startup/shutdown
− Teleadjusting: temperature, humidity, and alarm threshold
Teamwork control: Up to 32 smart cooling products can be networked for teamwork.
When multiple smart cooling products work cooperatively, heat load is optimally
distributed to reduce power consumption and backup is provided to improve reliability.
− Backup: When a smart cooling product in the group is faulty, the backup smart
cooling product starts to operate automatically to improve the reliability of the
smart cooling product system.
− Rotation: Each smart cooling product enters the backup mode periodically.
− On-demand operation: The number of operating smart cooling products varies
depending on the thermal load in the equipment room to meet requirements
promptly, eliminate hot spots, and save energy.
− Anti-competitive running: A mechanism is adopted to prevent the smart cooling
products in the same equipment room operating in opposite status to save energy.
Remote management: You can monitor, manage, and upgrade one or more smart cooling
products using the remote management software (NetEco, ECC, app, and Web) provided
by Huawei.
A large space is available for recording and storing fault alarm data, and 1500 historical
alarms can be stored.
Access logs can be traced back. At least 1000 historical login and setting records can be
stored.
The monitoring system displays 30 days' temperature and humidity in colored curves.
O&M personnel can view the unit operating status onsite.
A comprehensive power monitoring function is provided. Faults such as overvoltage,
undervoltage, mains power failure, high frequency, and low frequency are diagnosed and
appropriate alarms are reported and recorded. Automatic protection, recovery, and restart
are also provided.
The embedded wizard commissioning program guides the operator through the startup
commissioning. The controller automatically collects or instructs the operator to collect
the operating data produced in the process, and analyzes the commissioning result
automatically. This ensures the commissioning quality, simplifies the startup
commissioning, and shortens the commissioning duration.
The embedded professional fault diagnosis system automatically locates the fault cause
and instructs the operator to rectify the fault. This simplifies fault handling and improves
efficiency.
The controller displays the current cooling load rate and recommended optimal water
temperature (intelligently calculated to meet current load requirements), which helps
lower the power consumption of chillers.
Features
The controller provides a touchscreen with a user-friendly interface.
The controller is highly precise and responsive.
The controller is protected by a multi-level password protection mechanism, avoiding
misoperations.
Password verification upon the first startup is required to ensure that the smart cooling
product is started after valid authentication to avoid quality or security issues caused by
unauthorized startup.
The LCD displays the margin of cooling capacity at the moment so that you can improve
the operating efficiency of the equipment room.
The controller protects the smart cooling product against overvoltage, undervoltage,
abnormal power failure, and water leakage, which ensures the reliable operation of the
system.
The cooling capacity, air volume, as well as the operating status and runtime of each
component in the smart cooling product are displayed on the LCD in real time.
The controller provides a professional fault locating system that automatically displays
the root cause and maintenance policy for the fault, facilitating maintenance.
The controller provides abundant external ports such as FE ports, CAN ports, RS485
ports, and USB ports that are protected by a security mechanism. These ports flexibly
meet the communication requirements and feature good electrical isolation (signal
terminals will not break down or flash over within 1 minute at a 500 V DC voltage to
ground).
The smart cooling product supports communications protocols such as Modbus RTU,
Modbus TCP, and SNMP, facilitating connection to the NetEco.
The controller intelligently identifies abnormal parameter settings (incorrect commands)
and rejects them automatically.
If the indoor temperature is out of the normal range, an audible and visible alarm signal
is sent automatically.
Fans can be maintained without power-off so that the normal operations of other fans
will not be affected.

The new main way connects to the ground grid nearby over the ground point on the general input unit.
If the distance between two modules is 1200 mm, power cables need to be routed to the other
module through the cable trays on the top of the PDC while signal cables need to be routed to
the other module through the cable trays on the top of the network cabinet.
