Research and Development Organization for Afghans is a national nongovernmental organization (sdroa). We are the implementing partner for US embassy for Lincoln Learning Centers across Afghanistan. Currently, we are operating in fourteen provinces of Afghanistan. The learning centers are equipped with computers, books, magazines and other reading materials. These centers offer educational/programs for various audience. These centers sever at least six thousand people all over Afghanistan.

Position: IT/web designer Vacancy No: 004 Functional Area: IT - Software Duration: 1 Year(s) (Possibility of extension) Contract Type: Permanent (3 months probationary period) Number of position: 1 Salary: 80,000-160,000 Afs (Negotiable) Date Announced: 06 August 2011 Closing Date: 20 August 2011 Location of Job: Kabul- Afghanistan (Require Travels to Provinces) Job Summary: The incumbent is required to ensures integrity of the mission operations and make sure the operations adhere to the existing policies of the organization and donor requirements.

Duties & Responsibilities: 1. Establish and implement IT policies and procedures for the Lincoln Learning Centers. 2. Establish and maintain a network system in all centers including the main office. 3. Develop and maintain web page for the centers. 4. Assist the project staff in maintaining existing web pages. 5. Support the project staff at the centers to upgrade their web pages. 6. In collaboration with other stakeholders, develop, facilitate and provide technical support for group discussion over the net. 7. Train and advise the project staff in usage of any social network free pages on the net. 8. Ensure the maximum use of network by individuals connected to the network and make sure that it is active and free of fault. 9. Develop policies and procedures to reduce illegitimate use of software use, computers and communication equipment. 10. Develop tools to monitor illegitimate use of Internet. 11. Evaluate the needs of all centers and ensure that the minimum required tools/ equipment. 12. Ensure that all computers, internet and communication equipment are functional and are used effectively. 13. Make field trips and solve IT related problems of all centers. 14. Train all staff members about the use of equipment. 15. Develop system and procedures to ensure timely maintenance of the IT and communication equipment. 16. Develop list of the key external contacts to assist in maintenance of the IT and communication equipment. 17. Assist procurement officer in purchase of the IT and Communication related equipment and parts. 18. Prepare list of all IT equipment reflecting the type of equipment, user name and location together with status of the equipment. 19. Prepare a list of all communication equipment together with its user, status and locations

20. Reconcile the record with Logistic and commodity accountant books and correct any possible errors. 21. Prepare annual budget for the IT needs for the project.

Experience: 3 - 5 years Nationality: Afghan Gender: Any Qualifications: At least one degree in computer science. At least 3 - 5 years of experience with national or international NGOs. Must be fluent in both written and spoken English, Extensive travel is required for this job in various provinces of Afghanistan (50% travel in a month) Fluency in both writing and speaking Dari and Pushto and English language.
