The search had been long and ardious, but at last he had found it. It was fairly large, and the dark glow from its center was enticing. Though now that he had found it, he wasnt quite sure he wanted to do it. Then the Thought of Katherine entered his mind and an evil grin pursed his lips. With that he stepped off into the abyss, taking only the robe he wore, and a small book bound in red leather with him. As he floated into the abyss, he thought with a wry smile, "its a good thing I left fakes around, I knew the wench would try and take it." The last that could be seen of him was the glowing seal of the book, it simply read, "The Codex of Sin" And then, he was no more..... His final thought that could have been known to the world, had he still been living in it was "Well at least this dimension doesn't require working with fools." *A letter arrives for Empress Katherine* Katherine You will no doubt be happy to hear this bit of news. I will not be marrying you, Nor will I give you the object you fear. I herby official sever all diplomatic ties between the Legion of Deceit and the Shadow Empire. I will not be ally to those whom aid the enemies of Deceit. May your soul rot in the deepest of Pits Redwulf Inquisitor of Deceit
*A letter arrives for Empress Katherine* Dearest Katherine: In light of recent events, having had my manhood restored, thanks to the diligent work of thy sister Starr, I am willing to make an offer to thee, to settle our differences so that we may work together more fully in the future. My offer is simple: I will restore thy sister Starr's soul to life, as I am the only one who can do so. if Thou will agree to, and marry me as soon as possible. Your's in Sin
*The Value of a soul* *The musings of the Inquisitor of Deceit* What is the value of a soul: Could I get gold for her soul? Could I get another soul, more powerful than her, in exchange? Is the Soul more valuable in keeping it or in using it? Of What use is it: Could a soul be the last reagent for a spell as yet undiscovered? In the case of the Soul of Lady Starr, keeping her, at the very least is a good life insurance policy, As they will not see her again if I die. What would The Shadow do with a soul in this situation? What does the Book of Deceit say about souls, and their uses? I must get answers to these questions before I decide. Until then Starr can rest comfortably in her bottle; Safe from outside interference. Though there is nothing currently stopping a medium from contacting her, perhaps the Shadow will have a way to block them. *lapses off into further mediation seeking the answers* *More thoughts on the matter* After sleeping comfortably through the night, Redwulf once again began to think on the matter of what to do with the soul of Lady Starr. First he thought about Trading her soul for the Soul of Sinjun, however Sinjun would be inclined to add unreasonable terms to the trade thus making it an unlikely possibility. Second, though only briefly he had considered taking the Soul of Councelor Elizabeth, However her soul just wouldn't work. Another thought came to mind, one that would definatly drive Kaylor nuts along with a number of others. Provide a new body for Starr's soul, and insert her within, And then keep her as his wife. He then thought "Apparently I was a bit rash in killing the poor girl. Afterall Scarlet had told me what the last line was before she died, and with the work Starr had done, I was able to craft a potion to restore my manhood." Besides her young and timid soul would likely be far easier to manipulate than the soul of anyother woman. Then again, Keeping her for this purpose my not be necessary at all, if I
could obtain that very attractive Drow that was at the Drunken Crow last nite. However, it seems she has eyes more so for my servant Balg than for me. Of course by far the best use of Starr's soul would be as an energy source to power the Alter of Deceit. Her soul had enough energy to power it, it would just likely leave her in an extremely weak state for a long time if not destroy her. It would be risky, which is why I would rather have the soul of Sinjun, her soul is much stronger, and thus the chance of Destruction much less. The time is near, the sun, the moons, and the planets will soon be in alignment, then will be the time to attempt to recover the hidden words of the Codex of Sin. The Power of which are not yet known. *The Essence of a Starr* Redwulf showed up at this tower to check on Starr to see if she had completed her work. As he approached her, he could see the fear in her face as she began to cry. Did you complete the task I gave you? he asked she replied with tears in her eyes, I cannot make out the last line *GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR* Redwulf in a fit of rage, picked up a whip and used it on her with such force that it drew blood, at this point she was crying so hard she was shaking. Redwulf sat and thought for a moment. He then pulled out a book, and inscribed a note therin. Merry Christmas Kaylor McKairin I do hope you enjoy this gift of mine. Redwulf, Inquisitor of Deceit He then told Starr to get up, "It is time for you to go" he said. She did as she was told. After traveling via magical gate, to the Home of Kaylor McKairin, Redwulf handed her a small vial, containing poison. "Drink
this" he said. As soon as she drank the poisonous mixture, she began to spasm and choke. It took only moments for death to come to her. He then trapped her soul in the bottle he had carefully prepared before hand, and returned to his home to drop it off. After securing the bottle, Redwulf headed for the Drunken Crow Tavern in the Shadowlands figuring that Kaylor would be there. Sure enough he was. Redwulf then opened a gate to Kaylor's home and told him I left you Lady Starr at your house, as a christmas gift from me to you. Kaylor entered, along with a brigand named Estivan. As soon, as they had departed, Redwulf took a seat at the bar, and having a drink of ale, laughed the most hideous manical laugh, he had ever laughed before. This of course, drew the attention of the other guest, but he said nothing further for a moment. After a minute or two, he stood, and looking around sited Phoebe, the new grandmarshall. After a brief introduction, he confessed his crime to her, and told her where to find the evidence and even gave her a magic rune marking the location of the body. Along with instructions to have the murder added to the list of charges against him. After that, Kaylor returned, then Came Sinjun, and lastly Lord Mercer. As expected things began to get a little ugly, and when Kaylor poked him with his sword, Redwulf Kicked him in the nads and recalled out. Thus the essence of all that was, is, and will be, of Lady Starr of the RGMC is held in a bottle, in a chest in the tower, which is the home of, Redwulf, Inquisitor of Deceit
*Public Announcement from the Inquisitor of Deceit* Friends, Britainnians, Countrymen, But for a moment lend me thine attention. Are you tired of the Status quo in Britainnia? Are you tired of the political Patronage that goes on in reguards to choosing the Grandmarshall charged with defending you? Officers of the Guard, Do you not feel wronged for being demoted to to the lower ranks, so that this new grandmarshall, may fill your jobs, which you have done so well, with her personal friends? Do you feel a lack of pride? Do you feel deceived? Do you see fear in the leadership of Britainnia? Do you feel shame for having served the High Council? Have you come to despise the virtues, that those in the Government of preach but do not follow? Have they become hollow in thine ear? Well hear me, Now is the time to rise up in arms, now is the time to defeat these so called followers of virtue. Now is the time to return the seat of power to the government of the people. Now is the time to Join the Council of Sin, and make a real, lasting difference in Britainnia. If thou art interested in the Council of Sin, It meets Monday December 12, 2005 at the time of 9PM Central, on the Isle of Deceit. If you are interested in attending feel free to contract me, and I will arrange an escort for thee to the meeting. *A Public Missive from the Inquisitor of Deceit* I have been doing some reading in a library that, for the time being I shall not name, But I have discovered some interesting information. Here are the Virtues as the High Council proclaims to follow them: * Honesty is respect for Truth * Compassion is Love of others * Valor is Courage to stand up against risks * Justice is Truth, tempered by Love * Sacrifice is Courage to give oneself in name of Love * Honor is Courage to seek and uphold the Truth * Spirituality is to seek Truth, Love and Courage from one's own self and the world around * Humility is the opposite of Pride - the absence of Truth, Love or Courage
However, I believe the following is a most accurate description of how the High Council follows and enforces them. * Honesty-Thou shalt not lie, or thou shalt lose thy tongue. * Compassion-Thou shalt help those in need, or thou shalt suffer the same need. * Valor-Thou shalt fight to the death if challenged, or thou shalt be banished as a coward. * Justice-Thou shalt confess to thy crime and suffer its just punishment, or thou shalt be put to death. * Sacrifice-Thou shalt donate half of thy income to charity, or thou shalt have no income. * Honor-If thou dost lose thine own honour, thou shalt take thine own life. * Spirituality-Thou shalt enforce the laws of virtue, or thou shalt die as a heretic. * Humility-Thou shalt humble thyself to thy superiors, or thou shalt suffer their wrath. How long can a government, that clearly abuses the principles and virtues upon which it was founded, last? *An Evening of Business* The evening turned out to be far busier than Redwulf expected. The only thing he had planned on was roughing up Lord Mercer a bit, in an attempt to persuade him to assassinate Councelor Sinjun. However, as efforts to persuade Mercer appeared to fail. He had recieve word that some of the Royal guardsmen were willing to pay a ransom to regain their general. With this in mind, Redwulf delivered a message to the guards in question with an amount, that being 1000 gold bars. He then told the General to deliver the following story to Councelor Sinjun: Councelor, Your head is like the Bright Golden Sun, Your breast, of the finest polished Bronze, Your legs as strong as the finest wrought Iron, However your feet and toes are but dry clay, unfired in the kiln. I intend to smash your toes councelor, and watch the rest of you fall in
on yourself, I intend to destroy you. It will only take me finding the correct toe to smash, and the whole of you will fall. Redwulf Inquisitor of Deceit ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After Giving Mercer the missive, he took him to the gypsy camp in Ishnar, near the shrine of compassion and traded him off for the gold bars. After securing his departure from the scene in a manner to ensure his personal security, he remembered that he had beat Mercer rather roughly, and he hadn't treated his broken leg either. He knew they would take Mercer to the healers, and he knew just which one. He silently snaked his way into Minoc avoiding being seen by all, and sure enough Mercer was there, as was Lady Starr the healer, and Kaylor McKairin. He thought to himself, my lucky day. He then sent a pigeon to Kaylor with the following message: Kaylor, I am in Britain wreaking havoc, catch me if you can. Redwulf Inquistor fo Deceit ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------However this didnt seem to get the mans attention. So he sent yet another pigeon with the following note: I am having a grand ole time, burning the city as I send this, Stop me if you can. Redwulf Inquisitor of Deceit ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------The second missive worked, Kaylor rushed off to save Britain leaving the unconsious Mercer, and the Healer Starr left. Starr didn't know him. Even though he knew of her. He knew she was the sister of Councelor Sinjun, Councelor Elizabeth, and Katherine. That alone made her valuable to him. He put on his best, I'm worried sick look and ran into the healers.
He said to Starr, Help my friend is greviously wounded and needs your assistance. She replied quite smartly asking if the patient could be brought to the healers. So Redwulf said, He is too greviously injured to be moved please come with me. At that the lady concented, and left with him through a moongate that he opened. Arriving at their destination he led her inside. Taking her the upper most chamber he sealed her in. He then informed her that she was now his prisoner. She started to cry like a little girl, Redwulf suppressed an evil grin. He then, began to speak with her. I bought you here for a reason. I want you to decipher this book, and find a way to restore my manhood. If you do this, I will let you go he said, Though in all actuality he hadn't really decided if he would or not. He broached this topic with her after briefly planting the seeds of thought that her sister Sinjun, might actually be more evil than he. He then left her to her assigned task. Going downstairs he told his Orks, If she tries to leave, Kill her. If anyone tries to rescue her, Kill her. Otherwise keep your gruby selves away from her. To which they grunted with agreement, with that Redwulf retired to his chamber for the evening. *A hurried note arrives via the post office* To: Councelor Sinjun, Councelor Elizabeth, and anyone who cares for Lady Starr of the RGMC. I have her, She is working on a project for me. Do not attempt to rescue her, if she is sucessful, she will be released, if
she failes, well we will see. Oh, and on a side note: She isn't available to ransom back either. *Redwulf see's kaylor's note while sneaking about hidden, And decides to poke a stick in the muck of his life and stir it, leaving the following note* Why Kaylor McKairin, I do believe I saw you smooching Lady Ariana at the Silver Arrow just a few nights past. One can only assume from the passion with which the smooches were exchanged, that you are either engaged to marry her, or are seriously considering such. I wonder what Ariana would think to see your absolute display of passion for a woman other than herself, such as you are displaying by threatening to give up your life if need be for a woman other than her? Perhaps I shall ask her ----------------------Starr could not believe she was imprisoned again. Well she could, but refused to come to terms with the fact that she believed that everyone was good or had good in them or that no one would want to hurt her as she has done her best to hurt no one. The words of her captor haunted her as she opened the old tome..."...if you do not do this for me, I will torture Sinjun, force you to heal her so I may torture her again. If you help me you will be released unharmed, as well as save your sister's life." Her hand trembled as it reached for the parchment and quill he left for her. She could hear the orcs below her, and without the aide of Frost she would never stand a chance. She had left Bucksbee at the healer's, hopefully the healer's followed her order and put him in the Minoc stable. She began to read the healer's tome, while some of the ingredients she could make out there were some that she could not. So, she began a list of the ones she could make out. 10 dead wood, 10 fertile dirt, 50 ginseng, one executioner's cap, water.......one bloodwood shaft to stir..... The rest she will need to decifer. While her captor assured her he would not harm her because of Katherine, a part of her feared that once she finished this project that she may be forced to help him test it......or worse....Sinjun. Starr wiped the tears and tried to calm her trembling hands as she began to decifer. _________________
No News is Good News When you work within the Healers' Guild, you become somewhat accustomed to death. So the pall that seemed better suited to a cemetary that hung over the Healing Hand upon my return put me ill at ease. Neal wouldn't meet my eyes, when I walked up to the register desk. "What's the good word, Neal?" A growing sense of foreboding wrestled within my throat, straining the words and the humor with which I meant to speak them. Neal just shook his head and pushed a folded piece of paper across the table. I looked around and none of the other healers would meet my eyes either. The shadow of foreboding became a solid rock of darkness and fell into my stomach. "...where is Starr?" I had come back specifically during her shift, to see her. I had left with little notice, and had been gone much longer than expected, tending to family affairs within Moonglow, and tracking down an eccentric cousin in Ilshenar. I was hoping to surprise her with some of the trinkets I had picked up along the way, but mostly I wanted to see her friendly face. Friendly faces weren't so common on the gypsytraveled trails of Ilshenar. Especially for a pale 'book-boy' from the city. Plus, I owed her quite a few games of chess. Word had reached far and wide of the political distress within Britannia, but I thought little of it. When hadn't there been some kind of political distress? Isolated within the upper echelons of Moonglow, it was easy to forget and to become jaded. Something was always in danger of being destroyed, the government was always in the middle of one scandal or another, someone was always being kidnapped, and there was always political unrest. It had been the same since just before Trammel's creation, and I'm certain would remain that way until the day I died and beyond. When no answer came to my inquiry, I reached for the paper Neal offered. My hand was shaking. I didn't know why. The source was no doubt the stone that sat heavy in my stomach and seemed to grow, pressing and expanding.
"To: ... anyone who cares for Lady Starr of the RGMC. I have her, She is working on a project for me. Do not attempt to rescue her, if she is sucessful, she will be released, if she failes, well we will see. Oh, and on a side note: She isn't available to ransom back either." "I copied it down for you. I didn't think you'd believe otherwise." Neal still didn't look up to meet my eyes, which was for the best. "Who...?" It was all I could manage. "Redwulf." The former King's Counsel? My mind swam, trying to get a better hold on more current events as I knew them. Some time in the past, a man named Redwulf had served the High Court as the King's Counsel. Of course, with the uprising of the Shadow Empire, and other events, the name Redwulf had been associated with a group known only as the Legion of Deceit. Could they be the same person? What would drive a man of law and Justice to turn to kidnapping and, if the "Legion" name indicated anything, to deception? That stone of darkness expanded, became a boulder, and pressed against my lungs. I couldn't breathe. What could I do? What did I dare do? Could I help her? The floor tilted. And the edges of my sight grew dim. Great. I was going to pass out. Any maiden-in-distress business would have to wait until consciousness blessed me again. Of course, by that time, it was almost guaranteed the beefier men in Starr's life would have rushed to her rescue. It was just as well. I could hear Grey, if he could see me now, calling me a girl, as darkness took me and I fell to the floor. --Alexander Clark *Something Skrieks anew, in the depths of the Dark Tower*
After months of work, his plan was starting to come to fruition. He had spent countless weeks searching the depths of the world to the spell he needed, and then when he found the spell, it took several more weeks to gather the needed reagents. At last it was time, time to cast the spell and see if it worked. As he prepared to cast, Redwulf remembered the legend that had brought the spell to his attention. It was stated, by the drunken old man in the tavern, that Mondain had used the spell, and thus the first breed of Orcs were born. Now normally Redwulf would just ignore such a tale, however this one intrigued him. The haunted look in the mans eyes, seemed to suggest that he had been there, when Mondain had done the deed. After getting as much information about the spell as possible from the man, he had slipped him a bit of poison into his ale, and watched him die peacably in a drunken stupor. That was how it started, now it was time to see if it worked. He started checking off the reagents to double check that he had them all. 1)Blight 2)A diseased Gland 3)Elven ears 4)Clods of Dirt 5th and finally Vampire Blood (He could than Kaylor for this one, Even though he hated that Kaylor had killed his sister, her blood did provide the final ingrediant to the spell.) Reagents in a pouch in one hand, the scroll upon which the spell was written in the other, Redwulf stood upon the Alter in the depths of the Dark Tower, and began to read the spell. "In Mani Xen Uus Orc Ylem Ash piztor durbatulk, ash piztor gimbatul, ash piztor thrakatulk agh burzum-ishi krimpatul" Suddenly the walls of the Tower shook, as if an earth quake were occuring. A Hot wind swept about the chamber blowing out all the torches lighting the room. Suddenly before his eyes above the center of the alter, a dull green glow began to form. In the midst of the Glow, a form began to take shape. At first it was nothing more than a glob of goo, but after a few moments, he saw what appeared to be a head, then arms, and finally legs.
When it had finished the creature stood staring down at him, for it was quite large, a good foot taller than Redwulf. Suddenly the Creature shreiked a blood curdeling skriek, quite unlike anything Redwulf had ever heard before. Then it said "Goth, izg slai u mazauk r lat" which in the common tongue is "Master, I live to make war for you" Redwulf then spoke to the creature and said You are Balg, my Greatest Servant, and My Conquoring General Go forth and Recruit more of your kind. Build me an army, able to destroy all my foes. With a loud cry the Creature left, seeking to carry out his master's wishes. Lady Celebrian was sitting by a pond listing to the birds sing and the wind blow ever so softly. She saw something appear in the water, a strange mist. An odd color mist. Celebrian knew then this was not good. As she looks closer at the water the mist started to spread more. Then she saw something that took her breath away. It was Redwulf and a strange large beast. As Celebrian looked closer at the water she saw it was a large orc. She saw something odd, something that has happened before, but very rare. Celebrian could hear Redwulfs voice. He told this large beast to go forth and recruit more of your kind. Build me an army, able to destroy all my foes. Celebrian was shocked to see what was unfolding before her eyes. Then it dawned on Celebrian. Who taught him this spell? Who? That spell had been gone for eons. Only one that she knew of had ever cast that spell. And that one person was Mondain. Who still had a copy of this spell? who told Redwulf of it? Celebrian then new what she must do. Celebrian sent a pigeon to Lady Hera to come to her as soon as possible, it was of utmost importance. Celebrian walked over to the table and sat down. I must send word to the rest of my Empire to come soon, we must meet, and I must send word to Sugar to let her know to ready the Elvin Elite Forces. Something bad was getting ready to happen. Celebrian wanted to be ready. She called to one of the Elvin Elite forces guards and ordered him to heighten security around the city of Papua. Celebrian then sat down to write her messages, including one to her body guard Latrihel.
Sugar, I need to speak with you. Something bad is coming and we must try to stop it while it is early. Ready the Elvin Elite Forces. May Mother Earth bless you & Father Sky Guard you. Lady Celebrian Celebrian grabs another pigeon. Hurry my feather friend find Sugar and give her this. Latrihel, I need to speak with you. I have sent word to Sugar of the Elvin Elite Forces. I will be sending a message to Brock, our mayor of Papua. Something bad is coming. We must meet to come up with a plan to stop it before it is too late. May Mother Earth & Father Sky Guard, Lady Celebrian Celebrian reaches for another pigeon. Please my feather friend Find Latrihel and give him my message. Celebrian has done what she can for now, what she has witnessed has taken everything out of her. She could barely get up and walk. Celebrian was weak and needed to rest for now. She will need ever bit of strength now. Celebrian knew what was to come and she would need all of her strength. REDWULF Where Are You? Redwulf: You face the Royal Guard so valiantly, yet it seems when you are not backed by an army of mages and archers, you hide! This behavior is so typical and not unexpected. I had thought to respect you after the way you fought at Serpent's Hold. I am known for my impulsive thinking! And, speaking of Serpent's Hold---You and I have a few things to discuss regarding the incident during which you thought it humourous to have your horse use me as a rug! Come out of hiding! I await your company!
Kaylor McKairin Royal Guard He was uncertain as to where to have this missive delivered, however the entrance to Deceit seemed the most obvious location. *Taking the missive from the entrance of Deceit, Redwulf reads and decides to respond, even though he normally wouldn't in Circumstances like these* Kaylor McKairin You are like a gnat that constantly bites one on the ass. You do not know when to quit, yet you are incapable of stopping me either. However, since we were once friends I will give thee a bit of advice. Be afraid, be very afraid. After the cruel way in which you slaughtered my sister, Leaving her to bleed to death in the cold mountains near Deceit, I can assure you your end will be twice and cruel. May the Soul of my departed Sister torture your dreams, may you never sleep soundly, may you ever look over thy shoulder, may you ever wish for death to fall upon thee, however, may death not come to thee untill the moment I decide to deliver it to thee. *Redwulf pins the response to Kaylor's door with the bloody hair pins of his departed sister* -----------Kaylor hears a noise at his door and goes to investigate its source. The sound of rustling paper as the door is opened alerts him to the missive left by Redwulf. As he takes it in hand, he feels his flesh being stuck by what feels like pins of some sort. After having Ancyous read the Inquisitor's words to him, he returns to his desk to respond: Redwulf: You have enough courage to come to my home and leave a missive at my door, yet not enough to knock upon the door and speak your words to me. You tell me to be afraid. Afraid of what? A coward whose fear so rules him that he can't even face his enemy? Sir, I did not slaughter your sister in any fashion, let alone a cruel one. To be honest, I don't even recall meeting her upon the battlefield. Thanks to your horse, I barely remember much of anything that
happened. However, if I did wound her,I am certain it was in protection of my own life, which I do happen to value more than Scarlet's. I can assure you, I always look over my shoulder, however I don't expect to you see you there. You are too afraid of me to come that close! I don't fear death at your whim, I laugh at the thought! Sincerely, Kaylor He rolls the parchment, securing it with his Royal seal, and hands it to Ancyous for delivery. *Redwulf finds yet another message from the gnat Kaylor and after reading it writes back once more* To: Kaylor "The Gnat" McKairin Your constant buzzing and biting at my ass grows tiresome. We will meet face to face soon enough. Untill then, enjoy the gift I have sent thee Redwulf Inquisitor of Deceit *Redwulf then takes the note just outside Kaylor's Door but this time, He impales a guard that spotted him with a pike, and uses him as a sign post for his note. Hearing screams just beyond his home, Kaylor runs outside, but apparently too late. The agonized cries of the guard impaled by Redwulf immediately draws the prince's attention. As he approaches the sound, the man takes his last gasping breath and dies. Certain there must be a note attached to the guard's body somewhere, he decides to leave it untouched. "Enough!," he cries as he walks back into the house. "Ancyous! Bring my armour and weapon at once! I leave for Deceit within the hour!"
Kaylor decides to scribe one last missive to Redwulf before he rides out: MiLord Inquistor: Unlike you, I have no fear of confrontation. I grow tired of innocents dying for use as statements to me. May I suggest that you now look over YOUR shoulder, for I will soon be standing there! Kaylor He hands Ancyous the parchment and bids him race to see it delivered.
Untimely Demise Curse that Rat, Curse that Rat fink Kaylor to Hell, Scarlet Thought. She was bleeding profusely from the wound she had recieved fighting him in Serpent's Hold. No matter, she was almost home, almost to Deceit. She could see the entrance to the cave just ahead of her. But why was everything fuzzy. Scarlet became dizzy and fell to the ground from her mount, landing in a pile of cold snow. Rolling over and looking into the sky, she noticed the sun shining for the first time in many years. She could not feel it's warmth, no matter how much she wanted to. Tilting up, leaning on her elbow, she noticed she was surrounded by a pool of blood, her blood, and it was getting larger fast. Her mount had gone on into the stables within Deceit and left her lying there. She knew her doom was nye. The army of Deceit had yet to return, and there was no one here to rescue her. She fell back into the snow with a sigh. With her finger she left her brother and Leader Redwulf a note written in her own blood on a rock next to her head. The note read: Dearest Brother Redwulf I regret to inform you that I have failed thee, for I have fallen to the Blade of Kaylor McKairin. Please forgive and Avenge me. Your Loving Sister Scarlet After completing her note, she rested again in the cold snow, and waited for Death to come. As she felt Death's approach, she uttered her last words. "Kaylor, with my last words I spite thee, with my dieing breath I spit at thee, With my death yours will soon follow. May all the Powers of Sin Destroy thee." With that she fell into a grey void, knowing not where she would go, or to what she would become. -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------Hours later, when Redwulf finally returned to Deceit, he came upon a ghastly scene. There in a steaming pile of blood, on which used to be white snow, lay the body of his Sister Scarlet. He Walked over to her body, and looking into her face, he knew she was dead. At that
moment he noticed her note: Dearest Brother Redwulf I regret to inform you that I have failed thee, for I have fallen to the Blade of Kaylor McKairin. Please forgive and Avenge me. Your Loving Sister Scarlet After Reading it, Redwulf groaned a deep groan, that nearly brought down the mountain upon himself. Kaylor will pay for this, I will make certain of it. [NEWS] *The Sacking of Serpent's Hold* It was a long and Brave fight. The Royal Guard Fought well, but the miniscule group that Redcross left to defend the city, was forced into retreat long enough for Redwulf to accomplish his goal. He had the entire City Sacked and looted of anything valuable to his Army, and then Burned the warehouses full of weapons and supplies owned by the Royal Guard, And Even burned Redcross's office to the ground. Lastly he set fire to the great wedding chapel of the Island city, as he Watched it burn he could see the Royal Guard returning with massive reinforcements, so he orderd his troops withdraw, and prepare another attack elsewhere. This worked really well for the most part. Though perhaps next time, a more interesting Target will be chosen. A Message is Delivered to The Legion of Deceit Kaylor shakes his head. The list of recipients of his missives this day goes from bad to worse........ Redwulf: Hello, my long lost friend! I must say it was indeed quite an unexpected pleasure to learn from Scarlet last evening that you are alive and well. I've often thought back upon that fateful day you chose to deliver me into the hands of death, offerring me up as chattel for sale to
RedCross. As well, there remains the matter of several million gold coins stolen from me over the ordeal with Katherine. I must say, you've come a long way since then. Now you challenge the Royal Guard with this ridiculous threat of taking Serpent's Hold. How the Master of Deceit deceives himself! I would suggest you take a good look at who now stands among the ranks of the army you think to defeat. My weapon smiles in anticipation of our next meeting! Kaylor He rolls this parchment, tying it with a fine piece of red silk. *Redwulf Reads Kaylors note* After reading the message, Redwulf takes his pen an dipping it in the Blood of Councelor Jackson that was kept as a souvener begins to write..... My Dear Kaylor, I see as usual your head is walking amongst the clouds dreaming dreams that shall never come to fruition. I can assure you that when the battles begin you will be amongst the first to goto thy damnation and torment as a ghost, forced to watch thy friends fall, and yet unable to aid them. When it is over I shall sever thy head from thy body, and run it throu with a pike and leave said pike standing as a warning at the gate of the city. As for the rest of thy body, I will divide it into four pieces and disperse them to the ends of the world, to let the world know what happens when one triffels with Deceit. Redwulf Inquisitor of Deceit after letting the bloody note dry, Redwulf pinned it to Kaylor's Door with the now lifeless body of a Trinsic school girl named Mallory. Because he'd gone to Papua to deliver the missive for Brock, Kaylor had transitioned into Latrilhel. Arriving home, preparing to return to his
human form, he stopped in mid-stride, stunned by the horrific scene that awaited him. A small girl's body was hanging on his door, a parchment pinned to her dress. He advanced, pulling the peg that held her, catching the little one in his arms as she fell. Tugging at the missive, he made his way into the house, gently lowering the corpse down upon a loveseat in the parlor. Sitting beside her, he read the words written to him in blood. "Godsteeth!" he cursed as he finished reading. "You son of a b*****!" The significance of a dead child suddenly became all too clear. He tossed the missive to the floor, standing, looking sadly at the small body before him. "Now I am guilty of murder," he whispered. "Forgive me, little angel." Lifting the tiny body into his arms, he carried her to the RG hospital, instructing the House Nurse to notify RedCross of Redwulf's 'gift'. At first he thought to write, but decided he'd had enough of writing for one day. As darkness approached, he finally transitioned. Dressing all in black, he headed for Umbra. This was the night the Shadow Empire held its meeting.........This was the night The Prince of Shadows returned! He approached the SE prison without fear, without hesitation. Entering through the heavy doors, he stepped onto the teleporter and immediately found himself standing in the midst of those he once fought beside but who were now his enemies. They drew weapons and cursed him. He merely smiled and spoke pleasantries. He asked for Redwulf, but was met with silence. He asked again.........the man appeared before him. "What are you doing here, Kaylor?" he hissed. The prince answered the Inquistor with a soft laugh. "I came to tell you that I received your gift this afternoon." Redwulf smiled. "I thought you would like it." "You wrote that I would be 'the first', so I thought, indeed, to be the first............the first to face you, the first to show you the Royal Guard do not fear you, the first to tell you that you will die." Evil laughter filled the room. "YOU will be the one who dies," Redwulf warned.
As Kaylor started to reply, he was attacked from behind. A female vampire clutched at him, wrapping him in her arms, attaching her fangs to his neck. He felt himself losing stamina, losing strength as she sucked his blood from his body. At one point, he briefly lost his balance, falling forward against Redwulf. Then she paralyzed him. Redwulf's voice echoed through his head from some distant place. "Let's send Kaylor on his way." Presently a blue moongate appeared. Redwulf reached out, shoving him toward it. Stumbling through to the other side, he found himself in a forest of reapers---wearing no armour and without a weapon. The paralysis quickly dissipating, he ran, escaping the flamestrikes being hurled at him. Once clear of the trees, he collapsed, weak from the vampire's kiss. "Magic! Deceit! Play all the games you wish, Redwulf!" he whispered. "But you WILL face me in Serpent's Hold and you WILL fall!" *A letter Arrives for Counselor Jackson* My Dear Jackson, How are the virtues treating you these days? From my observations, not so well as you would desire. Remember the long discussions we had while you were my guest? Your people await you. They need your leadership. You were born in Darkness, and Darkness now stalks you closer than it has ever before. You must return to your roots. Do not deny your conscience, you know this is what you must do. For it is the right and only thing you can do. Return from whence you came. Take your place as a ruler of Darkness. It is your Destiny. Your Brother in Darkness, Redwulf Inquisitor of Deceit *A bloody note washes upon the shore of Skara Brae* Be careful, they are coming. Not much time now, they are close....
I can hear them, their blood curdling shrieks,,,ahhhhh They know I am here, I should have never agreed to come here. They are near. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh OoOoOoOoooooo *the last few lines are written in blood* Rev Lovejoy was here, but is no more. *maniacal Laugh* To Deceit From A Devil Lord Redwulf: I pace these well-trod stones each day, back and forth wall to wall, like a caged animal, all the while considering who caused my entrapment. Most would name me, saying I am here as a result of my crimes. I, on the other hand, know better..........or, rather....WE know better, do we not, sir? Not once, but TWICE, you played your games of deceit, treating me as if I were some ignorant schoolboy, a toy to be tried and later tossed aside when no longer useful. Well, Redwulf, you may be done with me but I am only just beginning my game. What I wouldn't give to call you out for a fair fight! Alas, that is most impossible now.....lucky for you. However, consider your luck but temporary, for I WILL fight you soon enough---in some fashion, somehow, I swear it! If I must reach out from the depths of hell, then so be it! Kaylor My Dear Kaylor, To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to
pluck up that which is planted; A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up; A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away; A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak; A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace. What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth? Redwulf Auction Closed The Auction for the Sale of Katherine (SE) has ended. I thank all of you for your bids, and your gold I especially thank kaylor, as you have now given me the funds to establish my military forces. Redwulf, Inquisitor of Deceit
Redwulf: I can only assume that you backed out on your commitment to sell Katherine to me without taking payment first because you knew that I wouldn't have fallen for any scams........And that you would have paid dearly had you so much as tried it. I appreciate the indirect complement. Mostly, though, I apprecaite the manner in which the multiple levels of betrayal you have engaged in have further illustrated the lack of ability
of Sin as a moral system to sustain itself for any appreciable length of time. There is a tendency in this age of lack of moral absolutes to see Sin as simply another side to Virtue. Someone might, for example, refer to the practice of withholding or covering up painful truths from family members and say that it is "Deceit," or refer to the military practice of hiding one's numbers or luring the foe into a trap, and then pathetically use this to suggest that Deceit is somehow Virtuous, forgetting that an individual deception is not necessarily the same thing as Deceit as an ideology. You have managed to multiple times betray both your allies and your enemies.......The army you intend to build with your bloodstained gold will have no good reason to think that you'll pay it in a timely fashion, or at all. While you may be able to continue your Evil eforts without significant help, as all of your potential allies will if they have the common sense of a skittering hopper will stree clear of someone who will assault their wives, I don't know that I'd bet on it. Congratulations Redwulf. And thank you for illustrating just how futile Sin as a belief system really is. -Galen *Human Auction (Send me Your Bids)* This is an Auction. *A note Arrives for Counselor Elizabeth* My Dear, Redcross should be more careful when he slings his pixie dust. Kaylor was so confused hanging there on the wall of his cell, my Spook could have told him anything. It took considerable doing to convince him that I already knew of katherines locatin and was on my way to kill her, when in fact that was far from the truth. My spook successfully convenced kaylor that her life was in danger if he didnt tell him. So once Kaylor gave him the information to find Katherine, he left. and gave me that location. I went a after a wee bit of searching I found her, and released her from his prison. I took her to my home. I told her of the RG looking about and that it was a dangerous for her to leave, but that i would go and fetch angel for her LOL, why i went by his house he wasnt home,,, therefore I left and returned to her. I then contacted Kakita to verify for her that the children were safe. Which with him of course they are.... And then I offered her a nice comfortable bed in my holding cell which she greatfully took without question. She is now my prisoner, and doesnt even know it. If you wish to see her again, you will await my further instructions. *A letter arrives for Galen via a Public Bulletin Board* My Dear Dethroned former King's Council and Royal Guardsman. I find it interesting that you have returned to our world. But what I do not understand is why you continue to pursue the so called virtues. Especially your doing so along side those who in the past have so horribly mistreated you. Perhaps you should consider following the true virtues. The virtues of Deciet, Covetous, Despise, Shame, Destard, Hythloth, and Wrong. Remember Pride, Deception, Greed, Sloth, Hatred, combined allow one to weild a force more potent than any the world has yet seen.
It is in you, use it. *A missive from the UnKnown Depths of Britainia* As I am sure most have heard by now, I am no longer a guest of Redcross and his royal guard in Trinsic. I have let myself out. It seems that no one bothered to changed the locks since I held the position of King's Council in your despicable land. Of course if I hadn't been disrespected so, by not being searched when I was arrested, I likely wouldn't have still had the key to let myself out. Do not fail to show me respect again, royal guard. As for those, whom violated the so called virtues you claim to hold so dearly, to arrest me in the first place, by luring me to a location under false pretenses, I will see to it that you pay dearly for your avarace. May the Demons of the Isle of Fire be upon thee, and the Dragons of Destard devour thee. Redwulf, Inquisitor of Deceit *A Missive from the Trinsic Jail* You Despicable Liars, Dishonorable Foes, You of no Compassion, Bigots of Order, Proud and Arrogant, Greedy, Autocrats, you who know neither truth, love, nor courage, Cowards! I see you find it fitting to abandon the virtues when it suits you. And So your DOOM shall come. Bringing a man to a location under false pretenses, shall not go unpunished, I shall have Justice! Or I shall have Your Heads!
*On Jackson* I guess I should admit my mistake, they way I attempted to Blind Jackson, I had hoped would be permanent. However, the Horses I tried it on first have recently regained their sight. So while I do not wish him well, I guess like the horses he resembles, his sight may also return. Redwulf, Inquisitor of Deceit
