1) The document describes an experiment that tested two methods for reducing errors from radiation: using a radiation shield and increasing airflow velocity. 2) In the first method, a radiation shield was placed between the sensor and heat source. This decreased the effect of radiation but temperatures still increased with higher voltages. 3) In the second method, increasing airflow velocity using a fan reduced radiation errors more by decreasing the density and movement of atoms near the sensor. Temperatures were lower compared to the first method.

Discussion:
In this experiment we used radiation shield between the sensor and the
source of radiation, shield is insulated used to reduce the effect of
radiation.
In this experiment we used three thermocouples (T7, T8, T9),
thermocouple (T7) is polished and diameter 1mm, thermocouple (T8)
is blackbody to see emissivity and have diameter 1mm, thermocouple
(T9) is also blackbody and large thermocouple 3mm diameter.
In this experiment we have two different cases, in case one velocity is
constant and in case two voltage constant.
In case one we used different voltage and velocity should be constant,
we seen that the temperature (T7, T8, T9) increased, because we used
voltage, mean voltage increase temperature.
In case two we used Fan and anemometer, the velocity doesn’t
constant, in this case voltage constant. When we increase velocity
density of air will increase, when density of air increase the movement
of atom will increase, when atom near each other the effect of radiation
will decrease.
As we see in first case of our results, when voltage increase the
temperature also will increase, but we used shield and we put in it the
device so it will decrease the effect of radiation. The difference of
effect radiation when we used shield and without shield are some point
less. The temperature T7 is smaller than (T8, T9).
In second case of our results, when velocity increase temperature. In
second case the value of our temperature is less because the velocity
has inversely relation with temperature. In this case also thermocouple
(T7) has lower temperature value.
So we can say in this reading the thermocouple is best combination of
thermocouple size, finish, airflow. when body is blackbody and
diameter is bigger, it will absorption more temperature and emissivity
is bigger and effect of radiation is greater. But Thermocouple (T7) is
best combination of thermocouple size, finish, airflow, because it
absorption less temperature and it polished and have smaller diameter,
so reducing effect of radiation.
