Amelia Earhart

Amelia Earhart was born in 1897 in Kansas. She grew up in a difficult home with an alcoholic father. As a young adult, she worked various jobs to pay for flying lessons. In 1928, she became the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In 1937, Earhart set out to fly around the world with her navigator Fred Noonan, but they disappeared over the Pacific Ocean on the final leg of the journey.

Amelia Earhart

Born in 24 July 1897, Atchison, Kansas to Edwin and Amy


Earhart. Three years later, her sister Muriel was born. Their
childhood was difficult and her fathers drinking caused him to
go a job at the railroad, they split up. The ladies moved to
Chicago.

When Amelia Earhart went to visit her sister in college she


met world war 1 soldiers, and gave up University to become a
nurse for soldiers.

In 1927 her mother and father got back together in and


moved to California she using $1 got herself for helmet and
goggles and flew over Los Angeles and she changed her
career to flying

She had to work various jobs to get the money necessary for
plane lessons under Anita snooker.

In 1928 she flew over the Atlantic ocean with other pilots, and
became the first woman to fly over the Atlantic.

In 1929 Amelia joined the only woman Cross Country aerial


race.,and found the 99’s organization.
In 19 37 she set out on a mission to circumnavigate the whole
world with her navigator Fred Noonan to circumnavigate the
whole world but at the end of the journey in the last leg of her
flight the US coast lost communications.
