NARRATIVE REPORT
I. Introduction
Data collection is almost always the first step in data mining. Businesses may collect
records, logs, data from website users, application data, sales data, and other information on a
daily basis. Data collection and mapping is a valuable tool for determining the limits of what
can be done with and requested of data. When it comes to data mining, the CRISP-DM
(Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining) is a wonderful place to start. This
standard was created decades ago and remains a popular choice for new enterprises.
Data mining is a technique for extracting and detecting patterns in huge data sets that
combines machine learning, statistics, and database systems. Data mining is a computer
science and statistics multidisciplinary branch with the ultimate objective of extracting
information from a data collection using intelligent algorithms and transforming the
information into an intelligible structure for later use.
Edgar S. Anthony, Dean, College of Computer Studies, and then Mrs. Sarah Jane M.
Festijo, BSIT Faculty, MCC, introduced the guest speakers, Dr. Jayson M. Victoriano, a
Doctor in Information Technology Assistant Professor III at Bulacan State University.
Dr. Victoriano established an effective Data Mining technique. The definition of data
mining and data mining disciplines would be the outline. Data mining applications, data
mining steps, data mining techniques, and data mining examples.
He also mentioned that the total volume of data mining is expected to exceed 59 in the
nearish term. New digital infrastructure, technology, and habits are assisting the ever
increasing data load.
The data mining field includes statistics, which are numerical analyses of data
interactions. The presentation of high human-like intellect by computer software is known as
artificial intelligence (AI). And there's Machine Learning, which can learn from data without
requiring human participation.
The five processes in Data Mining are highly crucial information that students may
obtain. This comprises creating project goals, acquiring and preparing data, data modeling,
analyzing, and developing. The first is Project Setting - If business and data mining teams'
project objectives and timelines are matched, they may have a stronger working relationship
throughout the experience. Anything that wants to be successful must have a plan. Identifying
goals is the first step in every successful data mining project. The second step is data
gathering and preparation, which, if not done correctly, may derail any campaign. The data
collecting and preparation stage ensures that the information is useable. For every wonderful
kind of data, there is a mountain of bad data. Bad data abounds, ranging from incomplete to
fake to out-of-date.
