Santa's Hat Iss - Script
NARRATOR: It is the night before Christmas… Christmas Eve. At the North Pole
Santa and his Elves are getting ready. They are getting ready for Santa
to deliver all the presents to boys and girls. The Reindeer are very
excited.
MIKAHIL- MISHA: (Sits back in his chair, stretches and yawns) Thank you Elves for
packing the sleigh. I was so tired from sorting and wrapping all those
presents.
SAMAYA: (Patting Santa on the shoulder) Don’t worry Santa, it’s all done now.
MARIANA S.: (Pointing to the Reindeer) The Reindeer are ready.
OCEAN: And the sleigh is full to bursting.
MIKHAIL: (He looks around, still seated) Well I’ll just get my hat and we’ll be
off. Has anyone seen my hat?
ELVES: No Santa!
CAROLINA: (Throwing her hands up in desperation) Don’t say you’ve lost your
hat again Santa!
SIENNA: (Wagging her finger at Santa) You’d lose your head if it wasn’t stuck
on.
SAMAYA: (Kindly patting Santa’s shoulder) Look Santa, you just sit there and
rest. You’ve got a long night ahead delivering presents… We’ll look for
your hat.
4 Santa’s Hat - Script
NARRATOR: No matter where they looked, Santa’s hat was nowhere to be found.
Santa was getting very upset because he had a lot of presents
delivering to do. But he was already very tired.
The Elves told Santa to just sit where he was and not to worry.
Then they set off to see just where Santa might have left his bright red
pointy hat.
The Elves thought they would ask the Snowmen. They always took
their evening stroll about now.
SAMAYA: Hello Snowmen, we have a big problem. Can you help us?
CAROLINA: Snowmen always know the answers.
MARIANA S.: We are depending on you.
MARIANA C.: (Big gesture with arms) You can ask any question you want.
KATE: (Points to all the Snowmen) Because we’ve got all the answers.
6 Santa’s Hat - Script
MARIANA C.: So, Elves, you can see how clever we are.
KATE: What’s your question then?
SAMAYA: Where is Santa’s hat?
(The Snowmen huddle together and have a little conference then shrug in unison,
turning their palms upward.)
NARRATOR: The Elves remembered that Santa had been to tuck in the Hedgehogs.
It was well past the time for their long winter sleep.
But they had wanted to stay up and watch the telly.
So, the Elves set off for Hedgehog Hideaway under Santa’s Garden
hedge.
MARIANA S.: (Shouting at the door) Wakey wakey Hedgehogs. Emergency,
emergency!
MILA: (Stumbling sleepily to the door) Goodness gracious, what is all the
fuss about?
OCEAN: Something very important. Something that can’t wait.
(All the Hedgehogs tumble out of the doorway into the garden rubbing their eyes
looking very sleepy.)
MILA: You woke us up just to ask if we’d seen a big red hat?
LUA: You disturbed our sleep just to ask if we’d found a big red hat?
MILENA: You got us out of bed just to ask if we’d moved a big red hat?
HEDGEHOGS: NO!!
ARTSIOM: (Emerges from the Hedgehog Hideaway) What are you naughty
children doing outside? Come back in and get to sleep at once!
(All the Hedgehogs rush back into their house. The Elves sit down despondently in the
garden. Gradually they fall asleep.)
TRACK 5: TIRED
ALL ELVES FROM RECEPTION BLUE
NARRATOR: After a restful sleep, the Elves went back to tell Santa the bad
news.
(Elves wake up and stretch. Slowly they make their way back to Santa’s house.)
PLATON: (Kneeling down to the side of Santa’s chair) We’re very sorry Santa,
but we just can’t find your big red hat anywhere.
EMMA: (Kneeling at the other side of Santa’s chair) We’ve looked all over.
MIKHAIL: Oh well, never mind. Thanks very much Elves, I’ll just have to get cold
ears that’s all. It’s time to go anyway.
(He gets up and moves toward the sleigh revealing his squashed red hat which he
has been sitting on all the time. Carolina grabs the hat from Santa’s chair and waves
it in the air.)
CAROLINA: You’ve been sitting on your hat all the time. What a clot!
MARIANA S.: What a silly Santa!
