Question 1
1st Instance: - firstly Lisa felt disappointment when Richard clark, Group
Product Manager, who had impressed her during recruiting process. He barely
remembered her & did not stop to welcome her aboard.
2nd Instance: - After above instance, Linton, Product Manager, invited Lisa into
her office and while conversation Linton remarked that “She doesn’t like MBAs
as they act like they know lot more than they do. After that Lisa responded her
about her past experience and personality.
3rd Instance: - Scoville, Associate Product Manager, invited her out to Lunch.
He was rude and he acted like condescending big brother at that time. He gave
menial jobs to her because of his poor planning.
Question 2
By using OCEAN Frame work analysis, Lisa can improve her relationship with Scoville by
two ways. These are follows:-
1. She now understands the personality traits of him so Lisa should be more open to
communicating to him.
2. Lisa encouraged others peer to help him after that Scoville would realize that she has
skills and different marketing strategies which would give him some benefits.
Question 3
Hidden area/Facade
Lisa can reduce this area and improve the relationship with Linton by following ways:-
1. Lisa should stop acting like a learner and be assertive with her recommendations and
pitch relevant ideas during staff meetings.
2. She should take initiative to ask Linton for separate responsibilities which are suited to
her abilities like analytical skills, intellectual capacity and organizational abilities.
Question 4
1. Firstly Linton should mention to Lisa as an asset of the company. So she does not feel
discouraged when Linton points out the improvements.
2. After telling the problem, Linton should advise her how she can work on her. Lastly
Linton should listen to Lisa’s point of view rather and give her chance to explain
herself.
Question 5
There are three engagement tactics that could help Lisa in feeling more motivated to work in
Houseworld. These are: -
1. Linton should encourage Lisa to speak their mind without any fear of criticism or
judgment.
2. Linton should have provided on spot recognition for Lisa, whenever she thought that
Lisa has done a good job. It will boot the morals.
3. Linton should give brief about the company’s vision and strategies to Lisa for her
career progression goals & provide a progress road map for future.

Hard tactics:-
1. Discrimination in treating Lisa by Linton & Scoville, said that they do not like MBAs.
2. Lack of mutual respect: - At the time of Copying incident & other incident, Scoville
shouted at her. After that copying incident, Linton also shouted Lisa.
3. Unequal opportunity given by Linton to Lisa.
4. Non-Transparency in Communication at the time of performance evaluation.
Question 8
Lisa should not quit the job at Houseworld. Relevant arguments are as follows: -
1. The main reason for Lisa to join Houseworld was that she would receive classical
marketing training in a structured environment from an industry leader.
2. Rather than running from the problems, Lisa should find out the solution for resolve
the conflicts as this would help her to grow for bigger challenges. For this she can take
help from Linton’s Boss Vernon and she should learn to work with Scoville making
her better working as a team.
3. As Lisa already gets along with her peers and management has increased the number of
Harvard and management recruits. She has a better opportunity to advance in her
career at Houseworld.
